Though a lot of people didn't like it, I thought Sonic Riders turned out quite well as a fast-paced racing game. It added a lot of cool new ideas and tweaks to the standard racing formula. Too many people couldn't get a handle on the controls though, and decided the controls sucked rather than admit they did.

Rush was great...and from the brief hands-on with Secret Rings, a bit of fleshing out and that game will be the second coming of Sonic.

"What role does realism play in videogames I ask myself. Is this image more interesting? Sometimes.. however, what if a "detailed" hand with 5 fingers is catching a bottle but the fingers pass right through it? Is this still realistic?
