@mrantimatter I wanted to get this game for PS3 thinking my gf would play it with me but she ended up being lame and not enjoying the demo, so instead I got it for Vita. It really is an awesome portable game, as the levels aren't so long that you could beat a few levels while you're out and about if you wanted to. Also, I don't *think* that the console versions have any equivalent to this, but any lums in bubbles or bad guys that need popping can be done so by tapping them on the touch screen which is convenient at times. You can also zoom in/zoom out by 'pinching' the touch screen which is kinda neat.
@lolkeits That's kinda why I think the Vita might start out as having as being like the 360 - no appeal to japanese gamers, but good reception in the west. Launching with Uncharted is obviously gearing it towards Western gamers. Eventually I'm sure it will get a monster hunter and you would think that it would sell even better than the 3ds version in Japan, I can't imagine they aren't aching for dual analog sticks and and some awesome graphics for their monster hunter.
@SirUrza I agree that it isn't as bad as all of the gaming websites are making it out to be...I platinumed the game just fine. I did experience all of the frame drops when my save file got to be bigger, but it seemed like all I needed to do was restart my ps3 and it ran fine again for a few hours. It certainly isn't broke, it's perfectly playable.
@halfportalfortress4dead Sony just needs to make a Skyward Sword style game. I don't see why nobody has done this, unfortunately Deadmund's Quest is the closest, but they just had to freaking make it on rails. I suppose Sorcery will be the next closest, but it looks like there is only spells and no swordplay in that.
@Special Agent Steve I dunnoooo about call of duty. I get the feeling they don't think they have to discount a game that just broke launch day sales records.
@DJMaxxi I find it hard to stomach playing any PS1 games on my PS3 anymore; the reason for that is probably that I just can't stand to see them stretched out onto a 52" TV. However, transferring them to my PSP is awesome; its hard to make them look bad when they only have to fit that resolution. Also, since a lot of them didn't support dualshock, its nice to use the PSP's great d-pad with em and to not be inadvertently trying to use the analog sticks.
If developers make games that don't require it then I feel like it won't be used to its full potential, but it would certainly annoy people like myself who are now feeling that they essentially are going to have paid 270 dollars to get their 3ds fully built.
Seriously...how many years did it take for them to develop the 3ds for them to then say within like 5 months of it being released "Ah crap we forgot to add the second slide pad"
Correction: I am ahead of time, I meant three days ago. Anyway, apparently I played the beta so much that I was instantly level 30 when I logged on after they announced this update, yaay.
Another sidenote: Uncharted 3 beta was the same way; unplayable on its first day. A lot of games end up being unplayable on their first day of retail too, so for you to not want to buy the game because of online play being 'BROKEN' which was just because of the surge of Plus subscribers all trying to get on the servers is just a shame.
Your statements were accurate...two days ago when it was released to Plus subscribers. The game has worked fine, since like...8 hours after it was put up on PSN for download.
That's the thing with betas; its for testing out stuff, and wouldn't you know it that they actually fix stuff that is broken? Amazing.
