Wow, I have to say that this story is positively frightening. For suspected theft, a cop can force entry into your home and at the sound of a loud gun-shot like noise, he has the right to shoot you dead without first having seen a firearm. And because he was following his "training", there are no consequences.
The moral of this story is not to make any sounds when the cops break down your door. Because if you do, you are fair game. Does not matter if you have a gun or not.
If I was that police chief, the cop will be suspended, facing charges of manslaughter and upon certain conviction, terminated immediately. And if the officer should make a loud popping sound during these proceedings, he should be shot.
Don't get me wrong people, I am not supporting crime. I just think that if the perp was unarmed, he should not have been shot in his own home for WHATEVER reason during apprehension. Otherwise, the real menace here are the cops...
Wow, it seems like there are many strong viewpoints on the issue of graphics and its importance to gaming.
I understand that the Wii is built around superior gameplay and innovation, it is how it competes with the "next-gen" competition.
I just wonder why Nintendo couldn't come up with a better graphics engine? Its not like the Wii is really inexpensive at $250 retail. Sure, graphics are not the priority but I agree with the author's comments that graphics help with the immersion factor.
My point is that while not needing to match the 360 and PS3's visuals, it would not have killed Nintendo to have added it bit more oomph to the hardware...
I guess its just like how the DS compares with the PSP. The DS has games with better gameplay and it outsells the PSP like crazy. But if you compare the visuals, my goodness, I must admit the DS looks awful compared to the PSP. But sales figures don't lie...
I think the Wii is going to do just fine in this next-gen market, just wished it the games looked better, thats all, sure they play just fine though...
