Over 14-years-old? Microsoft exec. says trade in your Wii

Mar 28th 2007 9:55PM (Joystiq)
A lot of people don't get it.....I.E...you've played sequels to games for years and years....the same button configurations, and such....now the Wii , with a nunchuk and wii-mote. I can actually move my nunchuk like I'm opening a door, or yank a guy around and push him with my wiimote. That's some wild stuff, to see my actions interpreted in a game. To tell you the truth I was getting bored with same old same old....sony and microsoft through in HD...and problem solved..but it's the same game nothing different. The interaction in games are amazing and I enjoy them, I'm actualy having some fun with those Wii games.

Nvidia: saying graphics don't matter is 'nonsense'

Feb 2nd 2007 5:18PM (Joystiq)
Again, it all depends on the individual. You don't expect Wii Sports to have the 'visual graphics' like 'Gears of War'. It's all on the content of the game. I've played alot of great graphics games but bad game and I've played a lot of less impressive graphics games, but fun as hell. If you understand how the gaming industry works,....the 3rd parties have the power,or game developers. They can make or break a console. How much Nintendo is willing to spend to make High quality graphic games? Or, Are the 3rd parties willing to use every little aspect of that console to produce a successful game? It's all on the developers and what they are willing to do? When I see games "coming soon" or "realease date pushed", that is way off, that tells me that they are taking their time to put out a quality product. Microsoft and Sony have deep pockets and a huge 3rd party support, and Nintendo slowly getting those 3rd parties back because of their unique control scheme. Think about, almost everyday, I read of games coming to the Wii, Scarface,Godfather,Godzilla, Mortal Kombat,TNA:wrestling, this goes to show that the 3rd parties are willing to build games up from scratch for different control schemes. They accepted the challenge because they were getting complacent with the same old thing....boring. I give it to Nintendo, they brought life into the gaming world...keep going strong:)

Zoozen Access Pro Tool Kit for modders

The Wii is a great console! This going to change gaming forever!! I never seen a system to get so much hype. Not only from the gamers, but nongamers, I lot of them are saying "That's cool","I want one..." "Now, that's different", it's bringing a whole new way of playing games to long time gamers that got bored(like myself) of the traditional "button mashin combos" that got tired and old. Nintendo has, of course , set the bar in game playing...They are most definitely in the next gen race.Remember, next gen brings in new ideas, and innovativeness, not add-ons on old ideas. :)

Careful with those ancient Zelda screenshots! You'll poke an eye out with images that sharp. [update 1]

I've played the Wii....WoW!I've seen the PS3 graphx...Wow! It's all in what you want and gameplay. I'm getting a Wii because of the price tag and the "innovativeness", it's different and that's what making the Wii so attractive. People are putting too much emphasis on the "Power","Who's going to win the NxGen","This machine is better than that", "Mine can do this, yours can't"..etc. In reality ,who cares....All of them are going to acheive one thing and that is making a lot of money. I've been a Nintendo fan for a while now, and I enjoy some of their games, and I am most certainly going to enjoy this new console. Nintendo went in a different direction, and critics, fans love the Big N for that, this system came out of left field with its specs. I read that Fil-Aimes made a comment that they still have something under their sleeve about the system, they are masterfully downplaying the actual capabilities/power of the Wii. So let's enjoy our games on whatever system of your choice, be young and have fun.....;)
