OS X 10.4.10 update causing widespread wifi problems?

Jul 24th 2007 3:35PM (TUAW.com)
I've had the dropped WiFi on two Macs- a 15 inch 2.0 GHZ Core Duo Macbook Pro, and a 2.0 GHz Core Duo Macbook. I've never correlated the problem to the 10.4.10 update- I just assumed that it was the router going back, since all of mine seem to after a couple of years.

The fix is usually to turn off the WiFi in OS X via the Airport menu, and then reconnect it.

Wii Warm Up: Wii60

Jan 28th 2007 12:04PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I got a 360 about a month after launch. I got smarter with the Wii- I preordered it at my local EB Games and picked it up on launch day without hassle.

I don't own a PS3, but would not rule it out if they had some compelling games. Unfortunately for Sony, the games they have slated to come out in 2007 either don't interest me, or are also coming to the 360.

PS3, Wii sell out at launch

Nov 20th 2006 5:16PM (Joystiq)
My local Circuit City had a sign up that read 'No more PS3s until March'. While I don't believe that, I do believe it will be at least six months before you can walk into a store and find the PS3 easily.

My buddy went to a Gamestop outside of Atlanta today (Monday), and bought the last Wii. They got more units in via UPS today, and sold them all.

Where have all the nunchuks gone? [update 1]

Nov 19th 2006 6:53PM (Joystiq)
No nunchuks in my area, either (Northern VA). I preordered my Wii from EB Games, but did not preorder an extra controller. I was thinking that this would be like the Xbox 360 launch, where the console was nowhere to be found, but controllers and games were plentiful.

On the way to EB to pick up my console, I passed by a Best Buy that was letting in a line of people that was at least 40 people deep. I got to EB and stood in line to pay for my Wii, only to have the person in front of me buy the last wiimote.

I headed over the aforementioned Best Buy where they were still processing the people who stood in line. I was able to buy one of the last four wiimotes, but no nunchuks were left.

I just ordered one from Nintendo.com along with the component cables (which are backordered). It was only $5 for shipping for both items.

Been furniture shopping lately?

I bought all six pieces of the Logan Media Suite from the Pottery Barn outlet near me over a 5 month period. It was a long process, but I saved about $1500 doing it that way over buying it in the catalog. It nicely frames by 55 inch Sony TV.

The Video Game Crash of 1983: myth or truth?

Jan 26th 2006 10:13AM (Joystiq)
I remember that Atari, Intellivision, and the like all but disappeared from the households of my friends during the mid 80s. My friends and I played games on the Apple IIe and in the arcade, but the home console market was dead to us at that time. The Atari 2600 was derided as "sucking".

It was not until 1986 or so that the NES started showing up in the homes of my friends. I remember thinking at the time "maybe consoles can be cool again". That was a prophetic statement for me, as I play only consoles now.

Worms may be coming to Live Arcade

Was I the only person who saw the title of this post and thought Worms meant malware?
