@Meekermoloko Add me to the list of people wanting to know if we'll be able to update our G10's to enable NetFlix.

AT&T rolling out MMS to iPhone on September 25, tethering 'in the future'

Sep 3rd 2009 2:58PM (Engadget)
"we need to ensure that some of our current upgrades are in place before we can deliver the expanded functionality with the excellent performance that customers expect"

They may as well just offer tethering and MMS right now, because their service has been getting so bad for me lately that the service "I expect" from AT&T isn't saying much. I now only expect it to resemble something like like wireless phone and data on occasion. And I now only expect my voicemails to appear on my phone within a 48 hour period instead of about 10-15 seconds after the actual voicemail was left.

I can't wait for other carriers in the US to be able to start selling the iPhone. Then I'll be ok with crappy service as long as I'm not paying a premium for it.

iPhone It In: Mafia Wars

May 6th 2009 9:47AM (Joystiq)
They actually fixed this in the latest release. I am up to level 165 or something goofy like that because after level 50, the amount of points needed to level up topped out at 500. So if you had enough stamina (or whatever it's called to do jobs), you could infinitely level up as much as you wanted. Now the new fix looks like it figures out the amount of experience needed to level up as being 10x your current level. So I now need 1650 experience to get to level 166.

Older Slingboxes won't work with SlingPlayer for iPhone

Apr 2nd 2009 11:28AM (Engadget)
Well, there goes all my excitement at finally getting the slingplayer for my iPhone. I also have an original slingbox and see no reason at all to upgrade. It does exactly what I need and want it to do. I don't care about watching HD streams, I don't need HDMI, or component or digital any kind of connections. I like my 480i stream coming off my s-video connection. It looks fine and does exactly what I want it to do. Now I would have, even though I really feel it should be free, bought the player for my iPhone. Now Sling lost out on even that revenue from me. I'm already in the mindset that I don't need it for my iPhone anyways. But if per chance this is an April Fools joke, then I'll be pretty happy and they can have my money.

Joyswag: Win one of five 'Halo Wars' demo codes

It's as if you mixed Halo with Age of Empires, but I find it hard to control Master Chief without having to move a whole bunch of other dudes at the same time. I guess it just means they need to tighten up the controls a little before it goes gold.

PlayStation press release breaks down the real price of consoles

Jan 8th 2009 12:39AM (Joystiq Playstation)
I'm another gamer who has all 3 systems (just got my PS3 finally this last November). I love my PS3 for playing blu-ray movies, but really I am not going to use if for it's main purpose of playing games except for the occasional exclusive that comes out for it. I only have one friend who also has a PS3 while I have over 10 close friends with with whom I am constantly playing on LIVE. That's what makes the 360 my platform of choice for gaming. And I'd never pay $100 for a wireless adaptor. I have my 360 hooked up to a wireless access point on my network along with my PS3. It only cost $40 and as a bonus, it allows me to also run my slingbox. Not to mention that you can buy a 20GB harddrive for $30 right now so you really don't have to fork out a ton of money for that either.

But really, all this comes down to different strokes for different folks. If you only have one system, love that system, but also don't forget that having fun comes first. Putting on fanboy blinders only prevents you from enjoying games on those systems you don't own. Play MGS4 and when you go to chill at your friend's place later, play some Gears of War 2 co-op. Then get everyone together for some Wii Sports bowling at the end of the day. That's what friends are for; to buy games on systems you don't own so you get a chance to play more than you can on your own.

Now I need to play some Left 4 Dead and some Little Big Planet before hitting the sack
