take-two's fiscal year ends on halloween. which makes their decision to release IV mid-0ctober strangely precipitous. it falls just shy of the deadline to close the year in black. curious if senior mgmnt pushed hard to finish, just as microsoft took the whip to bungie for both halo launches...

@17: they did it for kingdom hearts shortly before kh2 was released. didn't seem such a big deal at the time, considering the timeframe.

i'm pretty sure there was lots of pressure from Microsoft to package the two entities together. But with Bungie being their golden child, I'm also convinced that The B had some input into what property their precious beta would be coupled with, thus allaying any fears that the inimitable Halo 3 would be paired with garbage. so there's obviously some strength in the duo, and from early reviews so far, i'm sold.

sounds to me like it's roughly the same system used in the digital touchscreen videogames at clubs & bars. the pricing scheme gives you 4 credits for a $1, but wtf is up with these 3 credit games. what do ppl do with the extra credit? they generally just walk away, as opposed to forking over more cash to make up the difference. instant loss. at least in the Wii's favor, you get something substantial for your pains.
