Enchanted Arms to grope PS3 in March

Jan 12th 2007 2:51PM (Joystiq)
I'm pretty happy they are porting this one to Us ps3, I'll have at least 1 rpg to play in addition to oblivion(I already see the reply oh wait is it also on x360 since a year ago) I know these have been released on x360 but it happens I've got a 20 gig PS3(that I paid on ebay with 3 year extended warranty and shipping for the same price of a x360 premium without extended warranty(Price paid:574$CDN, price of the x360 in canada: 568 taxes included so the PS3 in my case was nearly the same as buying the x360 without extended warranty)).

As someone said most 3rd party will be multiplatform.

I don't care if one of the port is a little better on either platform (i think there was a lot more possible differences in ports from XBOX to PS2)The important thing for me is that I get to play these games. One would argue why buying the PS3, well first and foremost as a cheap (in price) blu ray player, my PS2 an gamecube have a lot games still waiting to be played, my backlog is about 80 games at the moment).

Preliminary: Xbox 360 wins holiday sales battle [update 1]

Hum for the rest of the world I'm pretty sure the Wii beat the 360 in europe and Japan (by a least a million in japan)(with 2 weeks of sale less than the 360) Except europe and japan the 360 sold about 100K in the rest of the world. They sold about 750K in europe (about equal to the Wii ). Sale for the 360 was 4.5 millions in US at the end of october, add 2 million + another 2.5 for teh rest of the world it is close to 9 million, I agree it is a nice figure compared to the 1.2 million PS3 and +-4 millions Wii, nice for msoft to have the 1 year head start. The next months will be when we see the tendance (once PS3 launch in europe) I'm sure The 360 will still be on top by the end of 2007 pretty equal to the wii. PS3 will have a distant third place: Let's say 15 millions X360, 13 millions wii and 8-10 millions PS3

Hum for all the guys laughing at the PS3 figures from vgstats(looking at you texrob) they seems a lot more accurate than nexgenwars, US PS3(NPD):750K Japan PS3(mediacreate):450K total worldwide: 1.2 millions. I'm not a mathematician but this seems awfully close to the VGcharts figures for the PS3 (1.21 millions at the moment)

2AM: The Wii/PS3 lines form and spots are for sale

Dec 17th 2006 12:16PM (Joystiq)
That's really nice if the wii has already sold 1 million in the us , it deserves it , I also agree the number will increase greatly after this w-e but don't think they will (sony either) reach their estimate by the end of the year. Well The only thing i'm glad is in about a month i will easily (or nearly easily) enter a store and buy a wii or PS3 without having to wait in line for 10hours. I don't care for christmas gift and don't want to wait, a day of overtime pays me a wii easily (in fact nearly a ps3) SO i much prefer work and wait another month before buying.

Still anybody believing nintendo will ship 4 million by years end. I don't think there will even be 1 million total in north anmerica, a bit like Sony saying 2 million shipped by year end lol. Come on their technology should be easy to produce but I suppose they don't have the building lines sony has. So nintnedo easy to produce but no lines,Sony hard to produce and too much lines waiting for blue diodes :)

Blue Dragon busts into Japanese sales charts

Dec 15th 2006 8:36AM (Joystiq)
I was thinking that maybe the x360 would have passed the PS3 this week on unit sold as they already had sold 25k x360 unit as pre-sale blue dragon special edition and the other weeks PS3 was selling about 30k units a week(due to production issue) but sony seems to begin to overcome its production issues as this week is nearly double unit sold (is it the same in the US?). We will have to see if blue dragon has a lasting effect next week, if the 360 falls back to 5k unit a week that will not bode well. We will also have to see if Sony incrase its unit sold even more.

November NPD: revised data reveals current install bases

Dec 14th 2006 2:50PM (Joystiq)
I find the 42000 HD-DVD drive sold a good number for an add-on available about only half the november month, now we will have to see if its numbers sold stay the same in the coming month because even if only 20% of PS3 buyer buy blue ray movies (which if find very plausible for early adopters) it already has the same number of customer as the 360 add on and the gap will grow each month if the add-on does not sell more than that each month
