PSA: PSN is down, Sony's 'working to resolve the issue' [update: it's back]

I'm in the UK and I'm online. I just jumped into a BFBC2 game with 23 other people.

@Halgrimur

It's because the US Dollar has no relevance in the UK. When electronic goods come here, they are transported over European land and waters, so the manufacturers have to pay their shipping and customs expenses in Euros not US Dollars. This is why the UK price is therefore a direct conversion of the Euro.

No company who manufactures goods in China/Japan/Taiwan etc would transport their products through the US and then over the Atlantic to the UK and the rest of Europe as it's not cost effective and it's a much longer indirect route.

If you already have the digital PSP versions from the store then they will work on the PSV.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to have cross-play for PS3, PC, Mac and not Xbox

@A Sandwich

Do you believe that 360 owners wouldn't like to have had Steamworks implemented in Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 which would allow them to play and chat with PC and Mac users as well as free DLC and all of the updates?

Amazon celebrates PS3 price drop with discounted games

@Anticrawl You're wrong.

The first ever native 1080p console game was Ridge Racer 7 and it also ran at 60fps, released in Nov 2006 (the first ever 360 game renedered natively at 1920x1080 was NBA Street Homecourt released in February 2007. It was also 1080p on the PS3). There are also well over 60 titles (both retail and PSN) that run natively at 1920x1080 on the PS3 (not including WipEout HD as that runs with a variable resolution - increments between 1280x1080 and 1920x1080 - to maintain 60fps).

A lot of XBLA titles that have been ported to the PSN came with a native reoslution boost. Titles like Lumines, Braid, Geon and many more were all native 720p on the 360 but arrived on the PS3 as native 1080p titles.

Sony's E3 keynote to be streamed live in PlayStation Home

@Mazrael

No it doesn't. You're talking out of your rectum.

The first time you use Home, it reserves around 3GB of space initially but you can manually increase/decrease this if you want.

The basic Home data is approx 300MB. That is the size of the 3 patches you have to download. After that, every location in Home is an additional 20MB-40MB download.

If you view the information of the Home icon on the XMB, out will tell you exactly how much space Home (and its reserved storage) is taking up.

Actually the offer ended in the middle of January. SCEE re-introduced it earlier this month.

@huffhuffhuff

Why not? The 3DS has been confirmed that its carts are larger than any single disc 360 game (max 360 = 6.8GB per disc, max 3DS = 8GB per cart). People have already said that RE on the 3DS is comparable to RE5, so why can't the PSP2 offer the same kind of visuals?

The native resolution will still be small (although larger than the PSPs 480x272), so texture sizes will be far smaller than what is typical for the PS3.

I imagine the PSP2 will outdo the 16GB offered by the PSP Go, and it should be expandable too.

I can get 64GB on my PSP now, the PSP2 should have the potential to walk all over that.

@metamorphic & ChomskyKnows

Fair enough. I'm not sure if there are any regional differences but I'm in the UK and it was impossible not to know that the email related to Uplay. It also said underneath the code where exactly in-game you had to go in order to unlock the content.

@ChomskyKnows

The subject of the email was "Exclusive free single player content for Uplay subscribers‏" and there were Uplay logos all over the email. What more did they need to do to let you know that the email was related to Uplay?
