First Dragon Age 2 screenshots sport better graphics, familiar imagery

Whatevs. I know I'll buy it. I know I'll play through it. And I'm relatively certain that I will wish it was prettier. Still, as long as it can fulfill my need for party-building, ogre-killing, ubiquitous-pausing gameplay, graphics will be a secondary concern.
'Mortal Kombat Rebirth' footage gets over here [Update]
Jun 8th 2010 11:39PM (Joystiq)You simply can't tell a true-to-the-games MK story with a straight face. Maybe in the 90s. But not now. It would be off the campiness scale. And yes some people would go see such a film anyways: MK fans, however many of those are really left.
So it makes sense that they would go with a loose framework that only requires the audience to remember that there was some guy named Reptile (and he prolly ate heads) and some guy named Scorpion who threw a... pointy thing and yelled at people to go over by him.
Capy porting Clash of Heroes to PSN and XBLA
Mar 10th 2010 9:06PM (Joystiq)I like the RPG-puzzler hybrid as an idea, but Puzzle Quest's bejelewed-style gameplay didn't really hook me, so I was glad when Clash of Heroes delivered a RPG-puzzler with a fresh puzzle interface.
I would really like to see Capy expand on this formula and maybe make a sequel that adds more depth and longevity. Hopefully the XBLA/PSN release get's enough attention to push them in that direction.
Capy porting Clash of Heroes to PSN and XBLA
Mar 10th 2010 8:54PM (Joystiq)1.Available to a wider audience
2.Good online multiplayer community
3.Probably will be available for cheaper than it is on DS
So, um, maybe that's why "all of sudden everyone is interested in this game"
American McGee's Little Red Riding Hood looks pretty Grimm
Mar 4th 2010 12:41AM (Joystiq)Oh yeah... since internet fanboys and trolls found themselves unable to come up with real criticisms of unreleased games about which all we have seen is some art assets and general game concept.
Nothing says 'BioShock' like stock car racing
Feb 14th 2010 4:12PM (Joystiq)Were I an opposing driver, my thoughts would be less "Oh my god, massive drillmonster" and more "Teehee, he's so cute!" But maybe that still gives Logano an advantage.
Reggie: Wii users don't care about HD Netflix streaming
Jan 15th 2010 12:57AM (Joystiq)Fallacious speech is the steroids of spokesmen and pundits everywhere; tons of them use it, members of the public who aren't in denial know it, but they get called out on it on such a rare occasion (and are bound to respond with fervent denial) that it can and will continue.
What Reggie could have said is: Over 26 million consumers bought a Wii. The consumer is saying that they will buy a product that doesn't offer HD capability, so we don't have to waste any time, energy, or money on it.
Would have been valid. Would have also been too bluntly honest for a corporate spokesman. Nonetheless, his underlying point stands; why should Nintendo care about HD, when they can make mad bank without it?
Review: Bayonetta
Jan 7th 2010 7:01PM (Joystiq)Don't you mean since like '06?
/cynicism
Really though, does this game need a coherent story? Do you really want them to sacrifice giant demon boots bursting from the aether to crush your foes for a narrative that makes sense? Or rather, do you really think they can fit giant demon boots summoned by human hair into any sort of narrative and have it make sense...
I give the game points for being completely over-the-top and completely self-aware of that fact.
