Pachter says Sony is 'ripping off' consumers with PSP Go

Jun 9th 2009 7:56PM (Joystiq)
Common sense people. If you purchase any device these days that has smaller component, you know it will cost more. Example are laptops. The 15.4" screen laptops are around $400 - $500 but the 12" screen are over $1000. It might cost Sony less to produce but we don't have any proof.

The other thing, Microsoft are totally ripped off because of all the different thing you need to buy which should've included in the system ie. WiFi. Ninento, for example selling us a machine for $250 which is as powerful as the PS2, with a fancy control.

If anybody here take marketing, this device is for early adopters and early adopters usually pay for the higher price to get it first.

Some examples is Apple reduce the price of there older iPhone and charge an arm and a leg for the new iPhone. Millions of people still paid for it and I don't here any complaint about that.

Anther example are movies. You pay full price for a movie ticket to watch a new movie but if you waited 2 months, the price of a movie ticket reduce by half at different location.

E3 2009's crown jewel of trailers: Uncharted 2

Jun 4th 2009 6:28AM (Joystiq)
@Roofie

If you played the first Uncharted, there's no CGI. The graphic remained consistent throughout the game. Even if you are watching the movie, it flow right through with real time game play.

Were you at the PSP launch?

Mar 7th 2008 12:53PM (Joystiq Playstation)
I got mine @ a local EB store. The good thing was, I didn't pay for it, the PSP launch day was on my birthday so my girlfriend bought it for me. :) Cheers. Unfortunately, she said I had to buy my own games but at least it came with Spiderman movie included. I didn't get any games that day because none of the game was interesting to me. I just want to play with a new toy.

Poll: How much are you playing PS3?

Mar 1st 2007 12:38PM (Joystiq)
I mainly use it to play FFXII but Sony needs to put more games quick. Going to get a HDTV today and hopefully watch some Blu Ray movie while I wait. At the mean time, I need to finish FFXII, damn this game takes forever to finish, enemies are hard as hell. My brother own the 360 and he wants to barrow mine so he can play the new baseball game that just game out. Anyways, enough of my babbling, Sony will pull through just like they did with the PS1 and PS2. The Wii is going down.
