"Xbox is not designed to store credit card data locally on the console"
Note the non-definitive PR speak: Saying that it's 'not designed' to store the data locally is a far cry from saying that it 'does not' store the data locally.
Plenty of wiggle room as per usual with PR nonsense.
Bethesda's games are some of my very favorites but the amount of passes which they receive is gross.
A fact highlighted by the vast majority of the gaming media outlets giving Skyrim a perfect score while the PS3 version craters to 0 frames per second. I mean I understand the whole 'review your experience' mindset but reviewers should at least warn consumers when a version of a game doesn't friggin function.
Did you play the PS3 version and did it run at an average of 20fps like the demo?
Regardless of someone's platform of choice I'd say that it's high time to stop the practice of slapping one score on all versions of a game when said versions are not technically equal.
Sony and Microsoft both want PC-style games ported to their systems but yet they don't fully allow for the kind of patching and content pushing which said games simply require these days.
Instead console players get broken releases like Skyrim on PS3 which remain broken for months on end because Bethesda can't code and Microsoft and Sony exacerbate that by charging developers/publishers exorbitant amounts to release patches.
Not to mention the abysmal cert process which stands in the way of smaller games while the big-boys like Bethesda get a full-on 'pass' to release broken games and all the while it's the end-users who continually suffer.
I love my consoles and I understand the need for closed systems and network controls but, in the face of places like Steam, they just seem archaic.
