There's more to Worms than not being online

Mar 19th 2008 9:00AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I am not defending Team17 or THQ but Worms is fun, bottom line, and I need an update to worms armeggedon which was the last good worms game. This looks to be promising to replace that game. Don't complain if you don't have any friends to play with and you are probably just mad because when your friends are around (in person) you can't just cut your connection and quit when you are about to lose. That last part was a joke for those who do not have a sense of humor.

I will buy this game when it hits the 30 dollar or less mark!

That is my take on this fiasco!

PSA: not all big box employees understand the DTV transition

IMO...with the exception of a few retail electronics stores, there is no reason for salespeople to lean one side or other on any paticualar piece of this situation. I came from a comissioned background and I wouldn't have a problem telling people what they wanted to hear. To the same effect I wasn't about to mis-inform them about the situation. The point is, these "studies" don't often represent real world situations. No matter where you shop it is just as much the responcibility of the buyer as it is the seller to reach satisfaction for everyone involved.

Revolutionary: 10 Things I Hate About Wii

Dec 19th 2007 10:20AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I am suprised that price of software is not in this list... I know, programmers have a tough time, put in a lot of effort, blah blah blah. If I am going to pay 50 bucks, 1/5 the price of the console, then it must meet the highest qualifications, otherwise I wait for the price to go to $20 which takes a long time. Otherwise the list is great.

Wii Warm Up: Now and future gaming

Aug 6th 2007 12:32PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I am on the fence. I was an early adopter and it has been a lot of fun. However the more games I play the more it becomes a gimic to me. Maybe I am not made out for the Wii and if game quality doesn't improve I will just use it for retro gaming.

In Defense of the Virtual Console's pricing

Mar 19th 2007 10:20AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
@20 and whoever belives in the same principle...

Most of the costs you brought up are fixed, therefore once they are paid for the rest is profit. The variable costs are minimal. Think about it, NES game sells for $5.00, it sells ONLY 500,000 copies in its life span, thats $2,500,000 in revenue. The profit they gain from this is substantial no matter what costs you believe factor into VC games. So do you still believe they are a bargin?

So I say if Nintendo is charging us this amount of money they have a responcibility to fulfill and they have not doen so... One day when your wii craps out and all your games disapear, when you go over to your buddies house and cannot share the game with him, and when you run out of space for more games and cannot transfer games to another space, you will realize what I am ranting about!

January game sales in the US up 53%

Feb 22nd 2007 9:10AM (Joystiq Playstation)
The tale of the PS3 will be similar to the original x-box. Sales will not be strong, the fewer peole that own them will love them to death, but the war will be won in the end by the 360. The next generation will come along and roles will again reverse! The Wii in the mean time is nothing to be concerned over it isn't taking anyone out of the market...although this is a prediction, I am pretty sure anyone who consideres themselves even a moderate gamer will own the Wii and one of the two other consoles.

Wii Warm Up: Ahh, GoldenEye

Feb 19th 2007 1:31PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
If I were MS I would release it on BOTH systems and make some easy cash! The problem isn't MS it's Nintendo, they are not willing to pay MS for the chance to put it on the VC because the install base for the Wii is not big enought yet. Nintendo is going to provide the games that they have the easiest access to until they have a big enought install base. Then they will be able to get away with paying big bucks for the more desirable titles.

Come get your Wii Play

Feb 15th 2007 9:45AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I got the last one off the shelf on Tuesday...The game was disapointing but are moderatly fun to play. Scince I only had two remotes I was eventually going to buy another remote anyways. If you are complaining about the gamesplay then keep in mind that you can probably sell it back to gamestop or somethign like that and possibly get the 10 dollar difference back and keep the remote. If not give it a second chance it may just grow on you, I know tanks did for me!
