I still read (and like) PC Gamer. More than anything because the mag has a real sense of humor, and they get good exclusives. A lot of times I hear about games from them first, because gamespy and others sort of ignore the indie labels and "unknown" developers.

Actually I think they go to an amusement park in the book. "Ding" Chavez gets too pissed off and so instead of getting a headshot, he first shoots the guy in the arm or something. Also he is on the top of a roller coaster I think....

I actually find books way more addictive and more mind altering. People who say game effect people in a way completely different from anything else should consider that in books you literally think each word as you read it. Maybe I'm alone but if I read a particular author enough my thoughts start to match the writing style of the author. I love books but I have to be just as careful about when I pick up a book as I do about when I pick up a video game. You have to be prepared to drop a lot of hours either way.

I'm not so sure they put her face on everything. I had no idea who she was (and I had never seen her face) until the OP. All of the commercials, all of the hype seemed to be about a guy who knocked over bystanders in slow motion and occasionally killed someone. Obviously if you're here you read a lot of game news, but the average gamer doesn't read that much game news, so the average gamer wasn't going "buy Jade's game" because the average gamer doesn't know who Jade is.
