Why the new farmhands? I thought the sheep were doing a good job herding themselves.

Someone should sue Nintendo for releasing the same console two generations in a row.

Casual games get bad reviews, no one cares

Dec 6th 2007 9:23PM (Joystiq)
Sometimes I fear the worst for this industry. The corporate shit heads at EA aren't exactly being reserved about the fact that they know they can rape the ignorant majority. Low budget, low quality and big return. Coupled with the fact that the Wii is selling like crazy, and Nintendo has no regard for quality when it comes to approving 3rd party games... we are well on our way to shovelware hell. It wouldn't be as bad if the word casual actually meant "casual". Instead it means "non-gamer", and thus the "win button" philosophy is born.

I just hope that the purchases that hardcore gaming community and tuned-in casual gamers make, will count for something in the end. That's all we can really do to fight this turd-headed beast at this point, through our purchases and educating casuals to keep them from buying shit like Carnival Games and Alvin & The Chipmunks.

It's the 3K for $30 pack. Achievement junkies, here's your fix.

Marvel Universe Online source of cancellation rumors

Nov 13th 2007 9:41PM (Joystiq)
This is what Shane tried to get everyone stirred up about?! Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a Marvel MMO, but Shane made the whole thing out to be something 360 owners would be devastated over. Seriously, Shane tries way too hard sometimes. What a douche.

Fable 2, Alan Wake, Too Human, Halo Wars not cancelled either [update 1]

Nov 13th 2007 4:39PM (Joystiq)
Shane hasn't tried very hard over the last couple of years, to hide the fact that he isn't a fan of the 360. He's been a huge proponent of the PS3, and constantly grasps for straws when finding faults with the 360's lineup of games. Chances are, he just being a retard and his "cancelled-game" won't be a big deal. He just likes to stir up shit because he's a 30 year old baby.

EA to acquire BioWare Corp. and Pandemic Studios

Oct 11th 2007 5:41PM (Joystiq)
This really sucks. I guess EA was serious about owning 20% of all retail games on store shelves. Too bad they squelch creativity and will milk the DLC market to no end. It's a shame more developers like Bioware can't do anything about these acquisitions. I would give EA some props if they actually had a good vision, but really it's just a bunch of suits stuffing their wallets. Sad thing is, they don't do a good job making this less apparent. From the overworked employee lawsuit to the Wikipedia scandal, EA has done a piss-poor job of making themselves look like they actually care about gaming or the evolution of gaming. Best thing we can do is not buy any of their games, even if it something Bioware has made. It's a hard thing to do, but if EA continues on the warpath like they have, it'll be severely detrimental to this industry's positive growth.

EA raises stake in Ubisoft, controls nearly 25% of voting shares

That makes me sad. Also, EA is pretty much responsible for the death of the Ultima series. Everything that they touche turns to shit.
