@TexRob No, the correct way to make it not just lip service is to not have crunches like that again, period. Life's not an equation where you have compensation on one side and crappy lifestyle on the other and everything is ok if the equation is balanced. At some point, no amount of compensation actually compensates for a sucky existence.

As an attorney, I am speaking from experience. I would take a massive pay cut right now to work some place where I'm not pulling all-nighters on a regular basis.

@LinkRazr When I was in college, one morning after a particularly loud open party, our (college age) neighbors complained to us about the noise: "I don't want to hear Dancing Queen being blasted at 2 AM!" Worst mistake they could have made. Guess how we closed out every party for the rest of the year.
