Also available at Best Buy.

Helluva deal for new 360 owners.

THQ CEO: Saints Row and Red Faction at E3, De Blob going multiplatform

Feb 17th 2010 11:39AM (Joystiq)
I think I would have given good, hard-earned money to have seen the article begin with..."at an IGN BBQ, THQ CEO..." Would have made my day.

And for the record, Deadly Creatures was actually pretty decent. Wish they'd bring it to XBLA and PSN.

Snap Judgment: Serious Sam HD

I love any game where the kill counts reach the hundreds...PER LEVEL.

Such a fun, over-the-top shooter. Already beat it multiple times on PC and Xbox, planning to DL it for XBLA in the future.

Rock Revolution for only $5, still not worth it

Aug 10th 2009 7:04PM (Joystiq)
$4.99 at my BB store, too...AND they still have the red 30% off stickers that we had put on them when they were still $19.99. A guy asked me if he could have a $4.99 copy and still get the 30% off. Since we're still stuck with about two dozen copies of it, I figured any chance to get rid of one was well-worth it.

Still an awful lot to pay for a drink coaster, tho.

NBA 2K10 Draft Combine coming to PSN and XBLA in September

I smell cheap, easy achievements, much like the EA Fantasy draft games...

...17-year-old Slutz...take that as you will.

WRUP: You know you're smarter than the mob edition

Score-whoring a little more tonight...gonna finish Open Season and then send it back to Gamefly for another easy game. Never should have accepted that score challenge...

What games are you ashamed to say you've never played?

Feb 13th 2007 4:23PM (Joystiq)
Kotor. Just didn't interest me, for some reason.

Ocarina of Time: Yes, I should have my Gamer status revoked for not playing this, but--I plan to buy a Wii before the end of the year, and snag it from the VC.

Metroid Prime: Have a GC in the house, but have never played Prime.

Resident Evil 4: See above.

GTA games: Doesn't appeal to me.

I've played NONE of the Final Fantasy games. Again, doesn't appeal to me.

I was going to put Psychonauts on the list, but I just found it at Wal-Mart for $20. It's on the 360's BC list, so I'll play it soon.

Ring of Death: An Xbox 360 story -- Part 2

Feb 11th 2007 10:15PM (Joystiq)
My 360 story:

My first 360 was defective out of the box. Not the system, mind you; just the hard drive. Called Xbox Customer Service, and believe it or not, got good service from them. Yes, the woman I spoke to had a Hindi accent, but she was nice and seemed to actually care. She told me to take it back to where I purchased it, so I did. The next day , I took it back to Best Buy for replacement (w/in the 30 day return policy; also bought the extended warranty). That's the system I still have. Other than freezing up once and having to restart, I haven't had any issues.

That brings me to what happened at my store this week. We received a shipment of 360s from MS about two weeks ago. Nearly every one of them had a defective HD. One guy exchanged his three times, and each one had a defective HD. Someone in MS's quality control dept. had REALLY dropped the ball. Truthfully, we rarely see defective units, and if we do, it's usually not the HD that's defective, but rather the full "red ring of death." At least MS has extended their warranty to a full year. That's only fair. Before any fanboys fire up their flamethrowers, remember: Sony had major issues with the PS2 at launch, and did a very poor job handling repairs and negative press.

Japanese hardware sales, Jan. 29 - Feb. 4: award-winning edition

Feb 9th 2007 11:58PM (Joystiq)
Sony's PSP, PS2, and PS3 combined totals barely eclipsed the total for the Wii, never mind the DS. Ouch.
