It was when I first played WoW and I was so taken back by the color and beauty of Darnassus. I'm still amazed by its use of purple. Wow!

Virtually Free: Mega Man 9

The second game (US) is my favorite as I remember seeing it on the store shelf at KB (Kay Bee) Toys in River Ridge Mall in Lynchburg, Va. It was 1988 and I managed to convince my parents to get me a NES for Christmas. It was one of the first games that I rented and I fell in love with Mega Man instantly. The difficulty was insane but I stayed with it until I won. Back then, I would rent two games every weekend and beat them before I had to return them on Monday.

Motorcycles finally implemented in the Wrath beta

Sep 24th 2008 12:57AM (WoW)
I agree with vlad on this. As a game designer, the first thing that struck me was how out of place the motorcycles are. The helicopters and submarines are ok as Da Vinci theorized both (http://www.lairweb.org.nz/leonardo/clocks.html) in the late 15th century and could have been theorized in the Wow universe. The same could be said about the guns used in the game.

Motorcycle technology wasn't created until the second half of the 19th century and the level of sophistication shown above didn't come about until the 20th century.

The level of technology exhibited in WoW is a hyper-reality equivalent of the dark ages. Some have said that the motorcycles are ok as WOW uses Steampunk technology. This is incorrect as Steampunk is set in the 19th century and is based on the Victorian era.

My biggest complaint is that the design is to close to its modern equivalent and thus doesn't feel like it belongs in WoW.
