Hajimete no Wii is a lot of fun. I hope they have decided to offer it independently of the remote when it is released in the US.

Joystiq hands-on: Crackdown (Xbox 360)

Dec 1st 2006 9:27AM (Joystiq)
This game was created by the new David Jones studio. He developed Lemmings and the old 2D GTA games. I heard him speak at a conference a few years ago about a new company he was forming to create cell phone games. I guess MS floated a fat check in front of him.

A Gamer's Manifesto

Nov 24th 2006 9:52PM (Joystiq)
Innovation? Gamers do not want it, that is why.

"There has been a general lamentation over the dearth of originality in video game in the last few years -- yet those responsible for it don't seem to change course. That's not in reference to gamemakers, but to game buyers. Only one of the top 50 selling games in 2004 was an original property: Microsoft's "Fable." Only four original games if the search is expanded to the top 100 sellers. The impetus to create -- not replicate -- just isn't there."

Katamari, while innovative, did not make it into the TOP 200 best selling PS2 games, not even reaching 300k sales worldwide.

I thought Christopher Grant was at the NYC TRU Wii launch? What happened to him?

Is there really a 1080p advantage?

Nov 10th 2006 5:13PM (Joystiq)
"Aparently nobody here has a computer monitor."

Do you sit 18" away from your television?

If the professionals at Sound & Vision can not tell the difference between 720p/1080p in screens below 60" from a distance of 10 feet, I'll take their word over that of a bunch of anonymous pre-teen boys on the Internet.

Today's hottest game video: wrestling surprise

You should highlight the best video, not the most viewed.

Here is today's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yX-h-bu5ByY

(and I agree this feature should be twice a week at most)
