The Macworld 2008 Keynote Liveblog
Jan 15th 2008 2:04PM (TUAW.com)Thanks, idiot investors.
What are you hoping for in tomorrow's Keynote?
Jan 14th 2008 10:47PM (TUAW.com)2) Free .Mac! And better than before.
3) An AppleTV actually worth buying.
4) Consumer-priced tower (I miss the $1,200 PowerMacs...)
5) An iMac with a gaming-worthy video card.

Jan 8th 2008 9:41AM (TUAW.com)Is Apple ever going to pull its head out about video processing? Sheesh, not even a $2,800 Mac is truly gaming-capable. Embarrassing to say the least.
Not that people buy Mac Pros for gaming, but if Apple uses the 2600 XT for its flagship computer line, there's little chance of getting anything decent in the consumer line. And that's depressing.
MacHeist 2 bundle will include Pixelmator
Jan 3rd 2008 11:49AM (TUAW.com)Too bad there's no Universal Binary. No thanks. Besides, I'd rather support some fresh new faces when I can. Adobe has become the Microsoft of graphics design - a lumbering, unresponsive giant who is now treating Mac users as second-class citizens. Bleh.
I've been wanting Pixelmator for a long time, but couldn't justify the admittedly-reasonable $59 for the little use I really have for an image editor. But with a bundle? Count me in!

Intel foresees less controllers, more flailing arms in video games
Dec 19th 2007 11:43AM (Engadget)I think Bill Gates mentioned this same "vision" earlier. Which sounds great, but then again so does 3-D holographic videoconferencing ("Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi; you're my only hope"). In other words, it's great to dream about in some far-off future, but I doubt it's anywhere near realistic to think about it now.
"Set up cameras around the room?" Riiight.
Let's actually get voice recognition working to a level of acceptability before we start thinking about three-dimensional optical recognition, OK?
It will be several more generations of gaming consoles (at least) before we see anything like this actually work.
