That's really quite impressive. I run summer tires on the Aston Martin Vantage, but after half an inch in New York after the same storm as this video, I wasn't too comfortable continuing and turned back home.
Then again, this being my car and the R8 being a tester vehicle, I bet the level of concern is different.
Snow tires for this size isn't even available on Tirerack, but my dealer said I could buy it directly from the manufacturer (in my case directly from Aston Martin), probably for some outrageous amount.
Most people know that when you stick your key fob to your head or neck, the range is extended because your body is acting like an antannae. Cell phones have built in antannaes that are designed to beam signals hundreds of feet into a tower, it could be that the RF from the fob is amplified by the phone. Only logical explaination I can come up with.
The first diagram looks so much like an Aston Martin I had a double take when I saw the headline. Nevertheless I love this car, and I'm among those that like it.
