DS Daily: Game gear

Feb 2nd 2008 4:55PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I don't have any game related stuff right now. I used to have Pac-Man bed sheets as a kid. I think my folks got them at the Goodwill.

I always look and drool, but *SIGH*, I've been unemployed for a while, so it's a choice of eating and gaming/game related stuff. I can't wait to start my new job.

No objections to an Ace Attorney interview

Dude, you just said what everyone else was thinking but afraid to say. That's why I chose Cooking Mama 2 over Ghost Squad last week *^_^*

I think this would be a perfect series to bring to the Wii. I love it on my DS, and I think that the functionality and increased memory would open the game up a bit. It's already very deep, as it is, but it would be great to see deeper plot lines and bigger stories told. Plus, they could alter the lines the case takes by offering different ways to get to an innocent verdict, which would increase it's replay value.

Plus, I think this series calls for some outstanding voice acting. The Wii would present it's own programming challenges for this series, but I think Capcom would reap the rewards of it.

Sega Superstars Tennis: controls, minigames, and awesomeness

Feb 2nd 2008 1:25PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
How is this game generating such little comment buzz? After the video posted a couple of weeks back, I've been dying to get this game...and I never had the privilege of owning a Dreamcast. The fact that this and Bass Fishing are seeing such little press makes me sad. Sega is scoring on quality here, and I'm afraid that they'll feel stung after this (and how poorly NiGTHS has sold since the week after its release). I'll certainly be picking these titles up when I start my new job here in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for keeping us updated, JC

Friday Video: Enter the Chocobo

Feb 2nd 2008 1:19PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I think it looks pretty good. I don't know if it will be my gaming vibe, but it's worth a rental to give it a shot.

Come now, people. Zak and Wiki looked like a kiddy game, but was nothing of the sort. It's an artistic style. Let's wait to pass judgment until it comes out. I thought the animation was outstanding, and the graphics looked pretty damn good by Wii standards. I'd be all for keeping the Japanese voice acting, too. Kinda like a reverse Sin and Punishment.

Cost: Virtual Console vs. Actual Console

Feb 1st 2008 6:37PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I think they're a little expensive. I've blown $60 thus far, and I have some regret on about $15 of that. I still have an N64, but Wave Race 64 used to go for $7 used at local game stores, and now it's over $10 (including shipping), plus waiting to get it off eBay. There has been some positive, with potential for even more positive. Some carts that were crazy expensive to shell out for are now available for pretty cheap. However, they need to make the more expensive titles, especially N64 ones like Bust-a-Move 99 and Cruis'n Exotica available. If I could get those for cheap, it'd hurt a little less to plunk down for those old games.

Rumor: Europe to get books on its DSes?

Jan 30th 2008 2:19AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
How about Ender's Game? I'd read that.

I'd pay $30 for 100 literary classics. But not Moby Dick (which spends an entire chapter describing the whiteness of the whale). How about some modern classics? Shogun, The Old Man and the Sea, The Sword of Shannara/Lord of the Rings, etc. I'm not advocating these exact works be on there, but you get the idea.

Relax with a little Bass Fishing

Jan 30th 2008 2:12AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I'm ready to "Get Bass." It looks good. The picturesque settings give me the same peaceful feeling that playing HotShots Golf 3 did. I'm totally down with some serene game-play.

Wii Fanswag: No More Heroes

Jan 29th 2008 1:18PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
As my chances slip further and further, my hero will be whoever is responsible for drawing my name to win if I get this prize. However, I would have to list Masuharu Morimoto. Pay respect to the Iron Chef.

Wii Fanswag: No More Heroes

Hiroyuki Sakai, the nearly unbeatable original Iron Chef from the much cooler original series. Or, the Michael Jackson of beer fame, not the pop star. That dude knew everything worth knowing about beer.
