Mass Effect PC DLC right around the corner

May 29th 2008 11:20PM (Joystiq)
Installed Mass Effect yesterday and have since encountered a litany of bugs, freezes and errors, the latest of which makes the game unplayable.

I thought it was my machine, but a quick check at the Bioware Mass Effect programs proves this isn't the case - technical issues appear to be myriad.

So please, Bioware, how about a motherfucking patch before any DLC?

Valve tweaking Team Fortress 2's pyro, possibly soldier

Jan 16th 2008 2:40PM (Joystiq)
Don't like the Pyro addition. There's a lot of bad Pyros out there now, and this change will just draw in score whores.

A great Pyro can already rack up kills and points no problem. This change will encourage people to just light as MANY people on fire as they can instead of dedicating to a target and making sure they go down, as a smart Pyro should do.

If you just douse a guy with flames once, odds are they'll make it to health or the flames will be extinguished before they die. Congratulations, you just helped your team not at all, but you still get a point.

Joyswag: Win this $5K dollar gaming rig from Falcon Northwest

Nov 23rd 2007 6:24PM (Joystiq)
My computer's currently a rebuild of a Dell direct PC that got fried in Hurricane Charley. It's got OK components, but good luck getting it to run anything that came out this year smoothly. Team Fortress 2 is dialed down on the settings so far I might as well be playing Team Fortress Classic!

Today's most Olympic video: Mario & Sonic at the Olympics review

Nov 22nd 2007 6:09AM (Joystiq)
Blaze and Vector have appeared in much fewer games than Daisy and Waluigi, and, generally speaking, much WORSE games.

Probably the only people who would really recognize them would be those creepy die-hard Sonic fans.

Metareview: SimCity Societies (PC)

Nov 17th 2007 2:00AM (Joystiq)
They should just haul out SimCity 2K again, keep roughly the same city dynamics (but add in the rural options from SimCity 4) and give it a graphical update. 2000 had the best balance between complexity and fun. A novice could create a large bustling city with relative ease but there was enough depth that more skilled city planners could challenge themselves.

I like SimCity 4, but its so damned complex I can only play it for like an hour or so before I get fed up with micromanaging every little facility. Is there a reason why I have to set the funding for every single school in my city?

Scaling back the difficulty is not a bad idea, but Societies apparently took it too far and made it stupid easy.
