I Am Alive not planned for PC due to piracy concerns
Nov 23rd 2011 6:40PM (Joystiq)Except in this case, its the many who ruin it for the few. And thats comeing from a mostly pc gamer with over 250 paid games on steam.

Oct 14th 2011 5:41PM (Joystiq)Don't bring game cost into the equation. I'm a serious gamer and I used to spend over 3k (not including the trade in values) on games on the consoles. I now have a huge library on the pc for peanuts thanks to ridiculous sales that happen ALL THE TIME. Got the quakecon pack for 70 dollars (over 30 games), The Rockstar pack for 50 (10+ games), THQ pack for 50 (another 10+ games)... You see where I'm going. The initial cost for the pc IS a bit much but once you have the hardware, the software prices make up for it fast.
Deja Review: Crysis
Oct 13th 2011 9:15PM (Joystiq)Yeah and you can turn on "suit shortcuts" in the options which helps a lot! Double tap sprint to enter speed, double tap crouch to stealth, double tap backwards to armor up, and there was also one for strength but I forget the shortcut. "V" would bring up the customize menu, so what was the problem? I agree the actual power wheel was frustrating though.

Dark Souls review: Brick walls and pancakes
Oct 3rd 2011 12:50PM (Joystiq)Wasn't even a brick wall in the old review. Banging your head against a wall has been used as an analogy for as long as I can remember. Stop grasping at straws. Thanks for the review joystiq... while I knew it was going to be good, I was going to hold back buying it. Now I'm not so sure I can.

Sep 14th 2011 5:58PM (Joystiq)The main problem I had with X is the linearity. I loved exploring the "overworld" in the previous games. I loved that you had to breed a gold chocobo in 7 which took hours of dedication in order to get to the best summon materia in the world. It's the metroidvania style (get new abilities and go back and explore again) that most of these RPG's overworlds catered to that I loved.
X had a decent battle system and I thought the grid leveling was cool at first but in the end as a power leveler, everyone was identical aside from limit breaks. In 6 everyone was incredibly unique! You had,
Terra, the magical freak
locke, the thief
Edgar, The mechanical genius that used tools like a chainsaw on enemies
Sabin, The pumped up musclehead that used controller codes to fight
Shadow, a kickass ninja!
Cyan, Swordmaster
Celes, The magic prodigy with magical cancelling properties
Gau, crazy dude that mimics enemies abilities with a whole mechanic of its own
Setzer, gambler extraordinaire
Umaro, Your own Yeti!
Mog, A cute moogle before moogles changed styles completely
Gogo, secret character that could do anything
Relm and Strago, More magical characters.
All those characters had great backstories and unique abilities. All in all I think up to FF8 were great then it started going backwards. I still enjoyed 10 but I couldn't stop that nagging voice asking me if thats all there was. Oh and blitzball was a PITA for Wakkas best ability or weapon (can't remember)!
