I have an HP HTPC running x64. It's good, I guess.

Microsoft's "I'm a PC" ad gently alights upon the airwaves

Does Silverlight not play nice with FireFox or AdBlock? It wouldn't load in FF, but did in IE. Not good.

It's too bad MS requires Silverlight, because it'll keep people from seeing what is otherwise a great ad. People do stuff. They use their computers. Not bad.

Awesome. You correctly identified one of the most famous books in literature. You've let the world know that you know the same reference everyone else does. Nice work.

As a fan of the 16-bit and 1995 or so arcade shooters, this looks great. No PSP, but I'd like to play this game.

Microsoft scouting exclusive video content for Zune

Aug 13th 2008 9:34AM (Engadget)
You're sure right. The Zune 1.0 software wasn't great, but at least it worked the same as WMP10 and was actually functional. I still use WMP10 to sort my music, and really only use Zune 2.0 to set up Podcasts and move the music over.

It's a real drag, and one of the things that keeps me from recommending the Zune to others. And considering how infrequently the Zune software is updated, I would really like it if I could use WMP10 to load music instead.

That's not unlike what my LG Venus does, although the Venus is a little bit more slick about it. See it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XqqJiCWrtA

It's neat technology, but I wonder what kind of feedback those buttons have. I have a difficult time touching a screen (with or without haptic feedback) than I do just touching regular buttons. Luckily, the Venus has both.

Dell keeps promise, invokes fees for "downgrading" to Windows XP

I used to enjoy Engagdet comment threads, but it's always this guy clak who has way too much time on his hands posting huge long posts every time. Does he have a job? Do his bosses know they're paying him for this? It's annoying.

Also, I have Vista Business and I like it. And yes, even more than XP.

Pictures of the ThinkPad X200 surface

No kidding. I borrowed a nub-only ThinkPad from school, and once I got the hang of it, I loved it. It's so much easier to interface with a variety of programs using the nub than the trackpad method. Really, it isn't even close.

My next laptop will be a Lenovo, and the nub is a big reason why.
