MobileMe announced for iPhones, Macs, and PCs -- .Mac is dead

Jun 9th 2008 2:26PM (Engadget)
Why would I choose this over Google Apps? It seems like it does the same stuff but with a different interface. Will it use my Gmail account? Does it cost money? Am I missing something?

Joy Division-themed Zune gets pictured and priced

@Ace b: You told him he has a "2mb size" brain.

That might be the nerdiest put-down I've ever heard.

Monster Cable at it again, sues mini-golf company

May 27th 2008 2:38AM (Engadget)
AJ: Yes, I have. They could have saved a lot of pennies by not buying an HD Theater in the first place.

It's a stupid argument, but I laugh whenever says they saved something by buying something. You didn't save a damn thing.

Monster Cable at it again, sues mini-golf company

Seth: Unless your sleuthing so embarrassed Best Buy that they decided to give your folks $200, they were most certainly not any sum richer. Yes, you may have kept them from buying overpriced cables, but I'm willing to bet that they left Best Buy that night with less money than when they entered. Thus, they were the opposite of "richer."

Bushnell: New encryption chip to effectively end PC gaming piracy

Joystiq is "vehemently" against piracy, yet publishes a multi-part how-to guide on Nintendo DS homebrew?

Uh, what?

The "sic" stuff is a bit much, isn't it? I know that blogs do not equal journalism unless they want to, but standard journalism practice is to clean up quotes so you don't make your subjects look like idiots. The other thing you could have done was posted the entire quote with some pithy Engadget-esque disclaimer warning how terrible the artist's grammar is.

But I guess that wouldn't be the most demeaning way to quote someone.

Yamaha wearable motorcycle concept will likely remain just that

May 23rd 2008 11:37AM (Engadget)
It will remain a "wearable motorcycle concept"? I should hope so -- that's what is it right now. I wouldn't expect it to become a banana, or an ironing board.

Sometimes you guys really suck at English.

"A woman's computer"? Are you serious? I'd love to see your super-tough ultra-male computer. I bet you it's made out of steel with great big bolts and rivets, and smells like Aqua Velva. And if you look at your computer funny, it'll sucker punch you.

Am I close? Weirdo.

Zune breaks 2 million sold, stealing market from Creative not Apple

May 10th 2008 11:55PM (Engadget)
I have a Zune30 and a current-gen iPod nano. The two players serve two different functions -- the Zune is my everyday PMP for working, the commute, and for the bedroom stereo dock.

The iPod is used solely with my Nike+ shoes. And really, thank god. I hate the interface, hate iTunes, and hate how flimsy the product has been. The screen resolution is nice, but twirling my thumb in order to cycle through menus seems remarkably stupid, and having used the Zune's intuitive up-down-left-right control mechanism, I just hate navigating the iPod interface.

My nano is only 4 gigs. I can't imagine using that same interface with 8p0 or 160 gigs of music.

Zune TV lineup gets some NBC love

If you use AdBlock on Firefox, there are no ads. That's been my experience at least. When I watch programming on Hulu, there is an ad at the beginning, but that's it. Doesn't make sense to me, but I'm not complaining.

I am complaining, however, about Hulu's presentation of Married...With Children. I watched an episode last night, and "Love and Marriage" has been replaced with some string music that's kind of similar, but not quite. I'm assuming the license ran out on the Sinatra song, but really, that's too bad.
