How is it disrespectful? It's likely just a shipping/manufacturing error. One that they will obviously fix. A complete bummer for anyone that bought the game new sure, but it's not like it was intentional.
Deleting your profile isn't what you think it is. As long as you are or have recently been on LIVE, your profile is actually stored server-side. The option to "delete" your profile is only to delete your local copy, it does not delete anything from your actual profile.
Once you sign in again after deleting the local copy, it pulls down a fresh version from the server.
Fair point, but at the end of the day you are still paying something to play the game. Whether that's $10 a month for a rental service, or a discounted price at a retailer - it isn't free unless it's free.
And for myself personally, I only buy new games and usually from bestbuy. I won't buy anything from gamestop, and I don't support the current used game model. I don't argue that you could get it cheaper than $60, but that wasn't my point.
The economy is crap and you can't play these games without spending $60 on them (unless there's a demo).
I think people are just being more stingy with their money as they should be. I don't want to spend money on something that *might* be good - even though I know I'll miss some great games that way.
