The perfectionist in me is kind of annoyed when I see them they shutting down online play for titles that have online achievements. So much for 100% a game.

If EA would just do peer to peer game hosting like pretty much every other publisher does we wouldn't have this problem, but then I guess we wouldn't get hooked into their glorious ea.com service.

@My Prerogative It's not that you wouldn't be able to use Skarlet online, but you'd be limited to playing only against other people who have bought the dlc. By offering this pack for free, it widens the pool of people you can play against.

The free dlc also acts as a bit of trial/advertisement, if people who download the free pack like what they see when playing against Skarlet online, they might be enticed into buying the full version
