I fail to see how this is any more microsoft's fault than the attack on sony was sony's fault. They left their own root key unencrypted, so when the PS3 was jailbroken a few savvy hackers stole thousands of credit card numbers, which is arguably WAY worse than people just getting their account hijacked and having some charges made to it.
Yet people still came out in droves to condemn the people who wanted to allow homebrew on the PS3... when it actually was Sony's fault.
Dudes, keep your profile locked so people can't call xbox support and use your gamertag/facebook/location/whatever information they can google about you to hijack your account. This is how people are doing this.
Let me start by saying I appreciate what you said about "hype" Most people use that word in regards to pre-release buzz due to trailers that make the game look better than it is. From what you described, i'm totally into that stuff too.
Well... maybe there's a reasonable explanation for the exclusivity. What you were saying about the PS3 version being gimped... maybe that's not too far off. Not in terms of the PS3 version being bad, but maybe they're having difficulties getting everything running smoothly on the ps3's slightly lower RAM.
Or, maybe they know that most playstation fans love Resident Evil and would buy it no matter what; while Xbox fans may need some more convincing after 5.
Sorry, not to sound like a jackass or anything, but ever since I got really into horror it's become increasingly difficult to make me uncomfortable with fictional things. Most of the time my brain registers it as awkward, which translates into funny.
I still get creeped out by Nemesis in RE3. I'm not invincible. The one thing that never ceases to get me is being chased by some crazy monster.
@Bielzer I just want to clarify that I don't think RE5 is good survival horror. That's a pure action game, most apparent when the "monsters' use AK47's against you and suddenly there's a cover system.
:Really??? dead space is better than every Resident Evil since 3.. If you get scared in dead space ur either rushing thru the game or your a weenie. Dead Space gets praised because Re is trash.. Re 6 looks ok ... Leon's story looks good but chris's looks meh...( o and too make a horror game remotely scary try not adding military weapons)"
Dead Space stole it's formula from Resident Evil 4 (quite blatantly, I might add) so I disagree that it's "better than every RE since 3" Code Veronica is a good game, regardless of your opinion. Same as Resident Evil 4(this game still had it's tense moments, especially on the harder difficulties like profession, which even had ammo conservation.)
Sorry, RE is anything BUT trash. To say people like Dead Space because they think RE is bad... I think you've got it twisted. Without Dead Space, there would be no resident evill; if Alone in the Dark is the father of survival horror, Resident Evil is the mother and deserves more respect because it's one of the best game series of all time.
...you're still using RROD as a reason not to own a 360? I'm pretty sure they solved that problem. Also... just to be the devil's advocate... from what I've heard from my friends on PSN there's alot of outages since the hacker attacks; things haven't been the same...
I dunno if it were me i'd rather send my console in for repair than have my credit card info stolen because Sony left the encryption keys in an unsafe place.
@Vic Fontaine Personally I never buy games due to hype. I buy games that I personally want to play. Regardless of what people on my friends list are playing.
However, every once and a blue moon I get suckered into something to play with friends. But that's not hype. Games aren't about hype. They're about playing videogames and having fun.
I've been a survival horror fan since Alone in the Dark(the original) and i'd just like to say this: Dead Space sucks. That's the absolute WORST "survival horror" game of the entire generation. I can't understand why people are constantly praising it and saying "OMG I PISSED MY PANTS SO SCARY" because i've played and finished both games and barely broke a sweat. Not scary at all. I knew where every necromorph was going to come from before they were there. That's boring. The jump scares in the original Resident Evil were better than that.
I understand alot of you are ticked off that Microsoft muscles in for exclusivity, but come on, drop the holier than thou attitudes. I don't see any xbox owners gloating about this, but in threads where sony gets some exclusivity alot of people start lording it over Xbox owners in the comment threads. Grow up guys. I'm a PC gamer and i've always found it funny that it seems that most of the xbox community is on xbox live, while most of the playstation community(that i've personally seen, it could just be a vocal minority) is complaining/gloating about everything. Why don't you go play your amazing EXCLUSIVES you guys are always rattling on about.
Or you could just grow up and wait for the demo like a man.
Actually, there are hacks on the xbox. I've come across 2 players that were unkillable by any means (rockets, c4, knife, bullets, grenade launcher, grenades). This guy was just standing in the open, not even shooting, letting the entire server shoot at him. You could see bullets flying from across every direction hitting this guy, his body moving from side to side, but he never went down. Actually, a pretty hilarious cheater. I'm not totally sure if he even killed anybody. I've heard from some that this is a glitch and i've read reports that it's a full blown hack. So who knows?
I'm sure that there are more hacks out there, some probably undetectable to the naked eye. The server binaries were leaked for BF3 PC, making punkbuster and etc avoidable. In theory someone could just use those binaries to make 360 lobbies. Maybe that's why you see so many games with "P1231376761" as the title.
