Final Fantasy XIII-2 review: Fixing the past

Jan 30th 2012 11:03AM (Joystiq)
I'm not sure why reviewers and sites retroactively call prior games in the series mediocre, after originally praising them. Joystiq rated Final Fantasy XIII 4/5 stars (although the review was written by a different author to this one).

Mass Effect 3 isn't launching on Steam, requires Origin

In better news I just saved myself £30, thanks EA!

James Ohlen hits back against critics, defends SWTOR's innovation

Uh Bioware employee. All the hate may not be justified but you know exactly why a lot of it is there. Of course its easier to cover your ears and shout "LA LA LA LA LA" just like Dragon Age 2.

Mass Effect 3 campaign details from Casey Hudson offer you a choice

"In fact, the story is so important to them that they feel the story choices are intimidating."

That must be the elusive CoD crowd you're going after Bioware.

Report: Crysis 2 is the most pirated game of 2011

The most pirated games also happen to be the ones where the publisher/developer has the worst relationship with PC gamers. Surprise?

BioWare docs defend subscription model, tease free-to-play iteration of classic IP

Dec 28th 2011 6:46PM (Joystiq)
Subscription fees are simply pure profit. Boxed sales can carry the game for years (and Bioware already charged £10 more than other PC games) and DLC and services (like server transfers) enable an MMO to be profitable.

Bioware talking out of their ass again.

Saints Row: The Third 'Warrior Pack' DLC caters to the fashionistas

Dec 23rd 2011 5:46AM (Joystiq)
At this rate the DLC will cost more than the actual game. Utterly absurd to pay so much for costumes.

A surprisingly good list for such a horrible commercialised show.

4.5 million pirated copies of Witcher 2 out there, according to CD Projekt

@sinergy Yeah that was his original younger design. After feedback CDProjekt changed his face to the one we know now.

4.5 million pirated copies of Witcher 2 out there, according to CD Projekt

Nov 30th 2011 8:40AM (Joystiq)
That amount of piracy isn't that surprising. Witcher 2 was a relatively hyped PC exclusive but it came from a relatively unknown developer. And as always I should point out that pirated copy=/=sale lost.
