Dragon's Lair XBLA dares to add Kinect controls

Mar 20th 2012 10:55AM (Joystiq)
@Nionel
and if they're counting being able to use Kinect or a controller as using both, then I don't think Steel Battalion is the first retail game to do it. (Child of Eden)

38 Studios head Curt Schilling elaborates on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning online pass quest lockout

One day they're saying the game is so massive that it's hard to find and fix bugs, then the next day they're talking about day one DLC. If they had time to develop the "extra" content then I hope they ironed out the bugs or it won't look well.

Remedy: Alan Wake's American Nightmare campaign lasts 4-5 hours

Jan 13th 2012 5:14PM (Joystiq)
Part of the charm in the first one was that they took time to establish the characters, setting and mood before everything goes to hell. You had the boat ride, visiting the diner, talking to the sheriff, visiting your cabin for the first time. It made you care about the characters and feel isolated in this rural town. I hope having a shorter version doesn't screw the pacing up.

Double Fine's Stacking to nestle in your PC

Why don't they make this for iOS/Andoid? Simple graphics. Easy to pick up gameplay. Easy controls. A lot of replay value. You can play in small chunks. It'd attract casual gamers. I bet it would do very well.

Max Payne 3 multiplayer to have 'Gang War' narrative, Bullet Time

@solidsnake8282
I think I'm the last game as you killed enemies in bullet time, Max and his rate of fire sped up. It was like you were in normal time, but enemies were in slow-mo. I imagine it's like that. The real advantage to bullet time was that your aiming generally didn't slow down. They'll probably slow down the enemies aiming cursor too.

If it's like the last one, you'll be listening to that same music loop through 90% of the game.

Rocksmith review: Drop-D minus

I just saw a commercial for this on TV and it quoted joystiq.com "it works incredibly well". Must have been a preview or something. Good lesson on how those commercials are twisted.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time review: Excelsibore!

They've ben going downhill since they started dumbing down the swing mechanics in the open world games. I remember being able to boost to adjust the trajectory and shooting a second web before letting the first one go to whip around corners.

X-Men Destiny review: Destined for failure

Wish they'd take the last Wolverine game add some characters like Nightcrawler, Gambit, Colossus, add 4 player co-op and maybe a horde mode.

You won't find the 'Feminist Wh*re' skill in the final version of Dead Island

Sep 8th 2011 1:38PM (Joystiq)
Somehow I doubt any gamers, even female gamers are offended. Most games involve murdering hundreds of people. I'm more offended that they feel the needed to protect me from the word "whore". They're lucky I wasn't the developer. I'd call the skill "PMS "
