Frag Dolls pwn Rainbow Six CPL tourney, first pro win

Dec 22nd 2006 10:00PM (Joystiq)
Matt has some good issues, but no one seems to have mentioned that PMS Clan did win 2nd place for Gears of War. The Girlz of Destruction also attended CPL. One of the women, Trito, made it to the top 32. Not all girl gamer groups are there for attention.

I run an online website for women gamers and I make it a point to make sure the site does not become a myspace full of pictures and headshots. Our site is purely about gaming. Thoughts on gaming, tips, and getting together to game.

I also agree to some extent that Frag Dolls should have cleaned house since it is their game. But do not discount groups like PMS Clan, KSI Sirens, Girlz of Destruction and many more that work really hard to compete.

Female game shoppers persuaded by freebies, determines survey

Dec 11th 2006 1:19AM (Joystiq)
I think anyone likes free swag. I witness 40 year old men go crazy for a free tshirt at a basketball game. This is the most ridiculous survey I have ever heard of.

Teenagers actually have the highest level of disposable income.

Women's game magazine launching in Germany

Nov 27th 2006 3:52AM (Joystiq)
I agree with some of the posters above that it would be nice to have a magazine that was completely non-gender focused, but unfortunately we aren't there yet. Almost all print gaming magazines have have zero or one female as a reviewer. And as I was told from an Editor at EGM last year, "Girls don't play games." So until the people who create the magazines change their attitude, there won't be a magazine that is truely gender-free.

Instead of a special gaming magazine, I would like to see more coverage about gaming in regular women magazines. If they review other forms of entertainment, it's time to review games also. That is something I would like to see.

The only reason to have a "female based community" is not to show other gamers that females game, everyone that isn't a jerk knows that. It's to show the marketing departments of the gaming industry that females game. They seem to be slow on the update.

Burger King Xbox games roundup

I bought all three the other day. Haven't had a chance to play them yet because I was busy playing the Wii with my parents, but I'm looking forward to trying them out.
