Nintendo's next killer app: diabetes management

Mar 15th 2006 2:43PM (Joystiq)
Anything that helps the needy is a good thing in my eyes as long as the vision is not only lead by a profit making motive.
On another note
Says Miyamoto. “And one of the most important features is that, because Revolution can run GameCube software, when you play Twilight Princess on Revolution you can take advantage of the Revolution controller.”

Nintendo Revolution prediction: second console of choice

Mar 8th 2006 2:50PM (Joystiq)
It's all about perception, and good advertising, for example the gamecube is considered a toy here in the uk, thus there is next to no retail space given to it in comparison to the other consoles, and the UK is driven by the latest trend, after all it's usually the parents that decide which console to buy there children with the intention of playing the games themselves. If the revolution can get a good start and good retail space, making money for the retailers then it stands a good chance, the people in the uk are very much advert driven, so if the tv saturation is good and especially on the ...ITV... channel which has a high percentage of the population watching (sometimes over 20 million people), and they associate with some good sponsorship, uk is football mad, then maybe with the new controller/remote and free online access they stand a chance to gain that initial mommentum which is so important with the birth of a new console.
I also think one of the problems in the past was the quality of there own games was like a double edged sword, meaning that Nintendo produce games of such depth and quality that when another developer/publisher produced a game it flopped because of not maintaining the high standards that Nintendo had set, thus making it not financially viable or too risky to develop for.

Nintendo denies latest Revolution rumor

Feb 23rd 2006 1:23PM (Joystiq)
We do know it will be small, compact, consumer price friendly and developer price friendly, this can only bode well for the small indie developers who exist or who could be formed due to small costs involved, this in turn will encourage risk taking and inventivness with storlines and ideas leading to hopefully new and refreshing games, IP's, characters for Nintendo.
Just think with a N-REV SDK at $2000 and a few talented mates you could be also soon developing for the mighty N.

Zelda MMORPG

Feb 23rd 2006 12:24PM (Joystiq)
It could work with the title..
The Legend of Zelda:The Search for Link
This would work with the ultimate goal of finding Link.
Other than that the only sure multi-million selling MMORPG would be pokemon...

Zelda: Twilight Princess delay is official

Feb 19th 2006 12:34PM (Joystiq)
It's all about effective marketing, releasing it just before or at the same time as rev, will create it's own advertising, who is going to buy one without the other, even if you have a gamecube, you wouldn't be able to resist buying a Revolution, just to see how much better it play's on the new machine.
I think the interest surrounding the Revolution at present is huge and growing daily, only 78 days until E3.......
