The top 14 things that only happen on TV according to TVS readers

Feb 11th 2008 9:50AM (AOL TV)
I hate when Cloe can do anything via a Unix screen.

My personal 24 favorites:

*A Palm Treo is capable of being sent ANY piece of data, including streaming infrared from satellites.

*Government agencies are easy to infiltrate.

*Cougars live in the Hollywood Hills.

*A black president would be the greatest president ever (Palmer = Obama)

And the identity of Gossip Girl is ...

So serena started a rumor that serena was pregnant? Ha, ya I don't think so...

If it were any of the main characters, I think it would be our resident Lonely Boy - Dan. Remember when Jenny caught him with it up on his computer?

In any event, if they do a reveal, they will introduce a new character who will be slowly revealed. Logically speaking, it can't be any of them.

Blair - not her cuz she was shocked when Serena showed up from boarding school even after GG had posted it.
Nate - for the same reason above.
Serena - not her because of the pregnancy rumor that almost ruined her and Dan.
Dan - probably not him just because he's never around when other things happen...but it could be. He never seems to be "in the know" though.
Jenny - very likely to be her. Strong writing background in her family. She knows everyone who is everyone but she's a freshman and I am lead to believe that GG has been around for more than just this one year.
Chuck - another possibility. GG did know about him and Blair in the limo. But it would be counter productive of him to text himself if he was GG (when he sent photos of Serena going to the hospital).
the minority girls - not them because they are always shocked by what GG has to say.
Eric - not him because he trashes his sister entirely too much and he obviously didn't have a phone/internet in the hospital otherwise serena would have known where he was when she got back to the city.

Five things I've learned from television

Maxwell Smart always used to make KL5 phone calls. It was my understanding that 555 was setup as a prefix for just that purpose - to use in TV/movies. I know recently you can use it for like directory assistance 555-1212.

Chief Wiggum: "Ok, we've traced the phone number....555...Oh, it's gotta be fake"

Poll: What's wrong with Sprint?

Jan 18th 2008 2:41PM (Engadget)
I guess I don't understand the whole "Verizon has better handsets than Sprint" argument. You can unlock any Verizon phone and make it work on Sprint's network without any problem. My wife had VZ before we got married and they charged her an arm and a leg for SMS and only made it free to txt between other VZ customers. $15 unlimited data with free unlimited txts is by far the best deal out there and Sprint has it. Plus, as far as I can tell, they haven't been able to tell when I tether either my PPC6700 or my Centro to my laptop.

I love Sprint. Sure they have their problems but I don't think you can find a network that doesn't. In all honesty, I've dealt with some bad Customer Service people but, for the most part, I've had some amazing success stories. I bought a phone once and activated it and then took it up to my cabin two or three weeks later. It didn't work cuz there was no signal so I canceled it. They hit me with a early-term fee and I called, talked to a lady, and she said "Well, since you didn't start using it till yesterday, we'll just pretend that's when you activated it and since that's within our two-week trial period, we'll let you cancel the line for free." That was beautiful customer service. Ive had billing issues before but they are always resolved. I dont know. Maybe I am sticking my head in the sand but I really don't think they are any worse than any other phone company.

Also, I love my CENTRO with EVDO.

How would you change Rock Band?

Dec 3rd 2007 12:41PM (Engadget)
How is this not an original idea?

Harmonix made Guitar Hero 1 & 2...which, are not the first games to do this rhythm/guitar/music thing...is the first to package it into something that anyone could pick up and play and feel like they were having an "authentic" experience.

Then Harmonix teamed up with EA to make Rock Band. They further revolutionized the genre by combining their "Karaoke Revolution" games with their Guitar Hero games and adding Drums. They have created something that is unlike any other game out there.

Please, tell me what ideas they stole because if you think Activision created Guitar Hero, you're wrong. They just bought the rights to the franchise FROM Harmonix. Harmonix saved the code and brought it with them to EA.

Live at the midtown NYC Rock Band launch

Report from Phoenix Best Buy.

I showed up around 7:30 and was second in line after a couple had gotten there a bit before me. I was about the only one who wanted a PS3 version of the people around me.

By about 10 the BB employee came out and said that he would be handing out tickets soon.

Tickets didn't come until about 11:15 and they either said PS3 or 360 on them. He said he had about 40 of each.

At midnight they let the first 10 of us into the store to buy em. I grabbed my ps3 version, swiped my card, and was the first one out the door with my giant box of peripherals. I was on the freeway by 12:04.

Maybe I was way too tired or maybe the foot pedal really makes that thing harder, but I was stinking up the place with the drums. My wife had to save me on just about every song.

So far, so good, but I'm really disappointed to wake up this morning and find that the PS3 GH3 controller wont work. I hope that's fixed by T-giving because this was going to be our family activity over the holiday.
