WWE All Stars enters the 3DS ring

@byaboy Since this whole article and discussion is about Wrestling games. I imagine he's talking about wrestling games. Just a hunch....

Japan's 3DS Ambassador games include Metroid, Zelda 2 [update: North America too]

Aug 30th 2011 12:01PM (Joystiq)
I'm ok with this. While my choice would have been Mario 2 and 3 above anything else, LoZ and LoZ II would be nice! My only hope is that we will get access to the Mario Games, even if I have to pay for them, I want Mario 2 and 3 on my 3DS!

I'm really excited for the GBA games though, I hope they hit sooner rather than later. neo

WWE All Stars enters the 3DS ring

Aug 30th 2011 11:56AM (Joystiq)
I actually liked the WWE All Star demo, but I haven't bought a game since the N64 days. If this game is even in the ballpark of those old games WITH Create-a-Wrestler, I will buy it day one. Graphics do not matter to me with a wrestling game, never have, it's all about how it plays!

Batman: Arkham City supports 3D whether you have a 3DTV or not

Aug 16th 2011 12:45PM (Joystiq)
I have a question. I'm new to the 3D scene and I picked up a Vizio Theater 3D which uses passive glasses like RealD in the theaters and not Active Shutter. This hasn't been a problem with any of the 3D Blu Rays that I've purchases. Can anyone confirm if this will still play on my TV or do I have to have Active Shutter to see it in 3D?

The Gunstringer will be $40, comes with Fruit Ninja Kinect and free DLC, this September

Jul 22nd 2011 12:16PM (Joystiq)
@Mcmax3000 First off, if I thought Gunstinger tanking would ruin Twisted Pixel I would have never said that. With Mrs. Splosion Man just being released they will be fine and I'm sure Gunstringer will sell. My point is that I'm sure that TP would have preferred this game to be released Arcade just like their other titles. Maybe if it tanks at retail Microsoft will leave them along and let them do what they are great at. And I firmly believe that we speak with our money. I'm not here typing this hoping to change the world (or your minds), but I will not buy the game now or ever at retail. That is a choice that I get to make as a consumer.

And to answer your final statement, I personally don't want TP to make Full Retail games. They are great at what they do and have some of the best games at the arcade. I want them to keep doing what they are good at and that's short and addictive games with boatloads of humor and fun. neo

@nightmare452

Again, we will probably never know for sure unless Twisted Pixel or DoubleFine speak out. But my firm belief is that the Kinect is failing because there is NO software on it other than Dance Central. TP and DF are both brilliant developers who started building both of these games (quite far along I might add) as downloadable titles. It makes no sense for them to jump to retail, they've been successful with their releases and like the arcade space. That makes it's apparent that Microsoft saw they had 2 quality products that utilize the Kinect well and decided they wanted to push it to the shelves for Moms and Dads to buy for their family room.

In the end, what upsets me most is that we don't have the option. I'm not against MS pushing the games in retail for people that don't know or want to use the arcade, but the game should be like $20 retail and 1200 points arcade day and date. If they did that everyone would be happy and I would gladly support the developers new games. But that's not the case, the games are only Retail.

And, a small side note, if you are really looking for good Kinect games like Gunstringer, than you are probably interested in Fruit Ninja. But guess what, if you want to buy Gunstringer than you also have to wait an extra month before you can play Fruit Ninja....unless of course you'd like to pay for it twice. It's just so stupid that we don't have the option that the developers started with and that's making an ARCADE game. neo

This is really disappointing. This game was on the top of my most wanted list as an Arcade game. Going retail turns this game into a NEVER buy for me. I know that sounds harsh and I LOVE Twisted Pixel (own every one of their games) but I refuse to buy this game at retail. Honestly, I hope that it completely tanks and no one buys it. Then maybe Microsoft will get their crap together and release it as a download the way it should have been released to start with.

Not to jump ship, but this is the same reason why I refuse to buy Once Upon a Monster. It's the principle. Twisted Pixel and DoubleFine (recently) do downloadable games.....and GREAT games at that. The Splosion Man series and Stacking are some of my favorite arcade titles. OUaM and Gunstringer were both built and marketed as downloadable games, but then Microsoft comes in and jacks up the price and forces them to be retail releases so they have more Kinect Titles to show.....because they for some reason can't release a game that's worth a crap themselves so they force their best arcade companies to fill that need. It's disgusting and I refuse to support it financially. So, until Gunstringer and Once Upon a Monster are downloadable for a good price like they were originally meant then I will be keeping my money.

12 Days of Joyswag: Fable 3 rucksack with Collector's Edition, book, and controller

Worst Glitch: Red Dead Redemption

I was riding out close to Pike's Basin. Cliff caught me off guard, I tried to stop but didn't have enough runway. However, instead of my horse flying to it's death, and me with it, it was like the horse was glued to the ground and literally went horizontal with the botton of the basin. At that point I could no longer move, I was just stuck, sideways looking at my death. The only think I could do was dismount and fall to my death. It was funny.....at first, lol. neo

New PSP Go owners to receive a free copy of LittleBigPlanet or Assassin's Creed

Feb 22nd 2010 9:21AM (Joystiq)
AAAHHH! This aggravates me. Not because I expected something for Free, but I missed the pormotion that ended in Jan and then my Birthday was Feb 12th and I finally got my PSPGo on the 12th. Not aware of this little offer, I logged into the store on the 13th to download my first game. 5 Days early.......MAN!

Anyway, that being said I am really enjoying my PSPGo, it would have just been much nicer with a free game :). neo
