Rumor: Kinect 2 to read lips, make french fries, soak up nasty spills

No technology is ever "perfect". I guess you're still holding out on that new-fangled "wheel" thing.

Because it determine better by using both. For instance, if the current voice recognition is 95% accurate (made up number), add in lip reading to disambiguate (and to help differentiate when 2 or more people are talking at once) and maybe it gets up to 99% (made up number).

Don't forget, the Kinect already has a microphone. So this will be another data point to help improve the voice recognition, it won't have to be used exclusively without auditory input.

PS3 catching up with Xbox 360 shipments worldwide

As it happens, I don't. I just hate bad journalism, and speculation being claimed as facts.

Okay, found the source of those numbers:

http://www.microsoft.com/investor/EarningsAndFinancials/Earnings/Kpi/fy12/Q1/detail.aspx

Buried as a line item on a spreadsheet, again not "touted". And now I'm going to have to ask for a source on "Both competitors' numbers refer to shipments.", as the source for that number certainly doesn't make that distinction.

"Just last month, Microsoft touted 57.6 million shipped units of the Xbox 360 worldwide"

False. If you follow that link, it claims that number was "tucked inside", certainly not "touted". But as far as I can tell, neither the number 57.6 or 2.3 appears in the actual document from Microsoft.

Dragon Age 2 review: A world of your own creation

Looking it up on wikipedia, we may be both right (assuming you got the downloaded PC version). For xbox, the premium edition had Stone Prisoner for free, but you still had to pay for Warden's Keep. The downloaded version got Warden's keep as well, to make up for not having the physical goodies from the normal deluxe edition.

Warden's Keep wasn't included in the premium edition of DA:O on launch day.

Totally wrong. We weren't allied with the Taliban in 79, the Taliban didn't exist then (not until the 90s). We did support insurgents in Afghanistan against the Soviets, including Ahmad Shah Massoud (who was later killed by the Taliban).
