Seattle named top video game city in America

May 3rd 2006 10:29PM (Joystiq)
Living here (seattle) my whole life It does rain often, and that streak of 30 days of non stop rain sucked, but we get our game on, and we are fit, Seattle rocks!

Metareview - G.R.A.W. (Xbox 360)

Mar 9th 2006 10:50PM (Joystiq)
I am totally stoked to get this game and I am thrilled that there is blood in the rating. I know that sounds weird but in GR2 there was no blood so you had no clue if the guy died. Anywho thrilled that this game sounds sweet, and I cant wait till the Rainbow six for 360 which is coming out soon. GO UBI!!!

When are teenagers mature enough to drive? Florida's thinking 17.

Feb 22nd 2006 9:48PM (Autoblog)
I live in washington and am 15, but raising the age in florida to 17 wouldnt help because you really don't gain that much maturity between your sophmore and junior year.

I think ,like people mentioned earlier, that instead of spending money and resources on raising the age to 17 they should spend it requiring more practice driving and taking tests, and I admit there are some piece of crap 16 and 17 and 18 year old drivers but the large majority aren't (at least in washington) so instead of penalizing the larger majority with a year long wait they should make the drivers education longer and more extensive.

I agree 100% with making senior citizens get eye checks and "retake" drivers education when they turn 65. My grandma drives with two feet!

Pontiac Montana SV6 axed due to slow sales

you guys are all right, this is just a disgrace that a company would even consider taking the EXACT same vehicle, and change the badge on it 4 times!!! I say keep the chevy and maybe the saturn and boot the Buick.

It's so sad that this came from an american automaker...but if it were any it would be GM.

GM's SUV gamble: So far, so good

Feb 13th 2006 2:43AM (Autoblog)
CR did a comprehensive report on reliability in cars (which goes hand in hand with quality) 31 cars were test ed and only 2 of the "most reliabile" were from american based automakers, 29 were from japanese automakers! 8 models were from Honda!!! Of the least reliable cars 22 were from america and only 4 japanese all of them nissan. While Gm's suv's ranked "subpar" The Toyota Sienna Ranked Above Average and Since the Odyssey didnt rank below average I'm sure it was Average. I'm not saying this in the Odyssey's defense I'm saying this because you KNOW that you can't say "Honda minivans aren't built with that quality." Honda puts quality in every car they sell thats why not one of their 2006 models ranked "below average" and GM had a whopping 13. You can't say that when a company builds 13 models with below average reliablity that they build with quality.

Heres a link to the report.

GM's SUV gamble: So far, so good

Feb 12th 2006 3:55PM (Autoblog)
P.Chappy I have a friggin suggestion...buy a minivan!!!!!They get way better gas mileage than the tahoe which really gets 11mpg city if you don't drive like Grandma Sharon, they seat 7 some 8, they are a much better deal in terms of price with a fully loaded odyssey at about $38,000 with navagation, rear seat dvd, leather, backup camera, power moonroof, 3 rows of airbags, heated seats, power seats, in floor storage which opens up more space than the tahoes, 360 watt 6 disc cd changer, 2 power sunshades, and xm satellite radio, versus the tahoes $44,000 price for the ltz with similar features. The oddysey doesnt drive like a truck and more like a car, It is identical in 0-60 times (8.6) It is far more reliable with honda quality versus chevrolet quality. If America would get over this weird phase of buying over priced suvs that gobble gas versus more economical minivans that hold more people with more space. I don't see the reason for buying a tahoe. With all of the money you save by buying a odyssey over a tahoe you can buy a new $3,000 50 inch plasma to hang on your wall and still have 3 grand left over if you didnt't buy the similar tahoe. P. chappy I think that a Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna, or even a spiffy new hyundai entourage is an answer to your needs.

Joystiq Interview: Peter Moore @ CES

Post numbers 27, 25, 24, 13 you guys have ridiculous arguments. You can't define a launch as a failure when every single console that they place on the shelves is sold within minutes, and that there are so many preorders backed up that it will take months to supply them. Considering that ms did a worldwide launch and didn't completely screw it up (it wasn't perfect) is amazing. Why do you think there aren't enough consoles, because they launched them all over the world within 2 weeks, unlike sony, and nintendo, which is really good for getting great sales early. Dear post 27 only I can see where you are coming from, but only a retard would open a resaraunt that only sells pancakes, but they would be really retarded to open one without enough batter. Selling modern gaming machines is so unbelievably different, you can't compare apples to oranges. I am not a ms fanboy by any means, but you can't pull of a launch of a major console perfectly, no one can, things always go wrong. Hardware defects ALWAYS happen on everything. (Remember the dead pixels in psp's) So it is not fair to pin hardware defects as part of a failing launch. Like I said i am not a ms fanboy but ms deserves some credit for launching everything worldwide at the same time months and months before any of the competition. Anybody can argue things about games that they read on the latest gamespot forum, but please be mature and don't bash on company's that spend billions of dollars trying to please you.

Joystiq poll: Next-gen combo platters

Jan 18th 2006 12:39AM (Joystiq)
Judging by the ds's crazy sales around the world (especially in japan)its inexpensive price, quality games, but not flashy graphics, and the rev's similar approach I think it will do really well. I think it will be really close, and the revolution and xbox 360 will be close, but the revolution will beat it out in the end. I own a 360 and I like it alot but I just have a feeling its really not bringing alot new to the table, I dont know it will be really close. If I had to choose two it would be of the 360 and the ps3, but ill just stick with the 360 im only 15...limited budget.
