Class action lawsuit filed against Sony for security breach
Apr 27th 2011 7:36PM (Joystiq)PR0F3TA you are so right.
I dont know what the law sued going to get, but really is stupid, and is just a waste of time. The people are blaming Sony, but I don't get it, banks and other companies get breached and they stay quiet. Sony informs us once they were sure what was compromised, although I do say it was wrong of them not detailing stuff more sooner, but I do give them credit for trying to keep everything calm.
Now if on Thursday they announced that they detected and intrusion don't people supposed to assume the worst and go and start preparing a plan of action in case something gets stolen. Is always handy to be prepared for everything.
Another note, people keep blaming Sony, but the Hackers (Crackers) are the ones that stole our information, and probably these people who stole our information have been trying to breached the system for days, looking for holes and making sure not to leave any tracks, and most probably was more than one person, or just a very good Hacker.
I'm tired of people getting angry over this, stop acting childish and move on already, Sony did their best to secure our data, and they did shutdown PSN Service, it would have been worst that if PSN service keep working they could have done more damage and you all wouldn't even noticed, not until later in a month that we get an email stating that they were breached in April and all your information was stolen.
PSN Breach: What it means for you, and for Sony
Apr 27th 2011 4:16PM (Joystiq)You know I find it surprising how people are posting comments on the PlayStation Blog. How are they really doing that? I tried and I can't log in.
PSN Breach: What it means for you, and for Sony
Apr 27th 2011 4:04PM (Joystiq)Security Breaches happen all the time, and in all type of companies. I remember a few years back that a Renown Retailer (I think it was Sears/Kmart) was breached and it's credit card information stolen yet people still go and buy stuff from the place using their CC. Microsoft has breaches all the time with it's OS, and that's why you see the all famous Windows Updates; yet people still buy Windows and their other products (Xbox, Phones).
Products get hacked (ex. Wii, iOS, Android, Xbox360, PS3) yet people buy these products and then jailbraking/root/CFW it in order to use extra features (mostly for pirating), knowing that their product isn't secure anymore. Yet they still use it.
Sure information was stolen, but information can easily be stolen every second without you knowing it. Sites like facebook provide lots information for those who find it useful. People eavesdropping from a far can easily obtain information, that you might find it dumb, but for others is a key for something big.
What I mean with all this, whatever happen it happened, there's nothing us as user can do about it except secure our passwords and secure our accounts. It beyond our control. I do find it pointless, that because a thing like this you throw away a product (it be kind of childish), when thing like this happen all the time. I say it again: There's no such thing as a unbreakable security, just one that is hard to get in.

Portal 2 for PS3 Steam details: Steam Cloud, Steam Play, Steam-y
Apr 13th 2011 4:14PM (Joystiq)Yeah Microsoft tried that, it was called Games for Windows Live, where PC users needed to pay $50 for the live service in order to play online. It didn't work, and they ended eliminating the $50 thing and just adding a market while sticking with the name... yet really it just sucks. MS really doesn't care about PC gaming anymore (even though they market their OS for a HD gaming Experience).
Portal 2 for PS3 Steam details: Steam Cloud, Steam Play, Steam-y
Apr 13th 2011 4:08PM (Joystiq)Yeah, that's why being superior console doesn't give you two copies of the game, one for your home console, the other one for the PC, you know where you can use it on your PC with the best controller for FPS, (mouse and keyboard in case you don't know).
Also one note, the game requirements aren't that high, they are standard, in which I don't understand why some of you people talk about it as it was like Crysis.
