Remember when all the tech blogs thought this was a kiddie-phone that would be sub-$100?

I'm gonna go with the N900. If you add in the mandatory data contract on the CLiQ, that's an extra $600. I can get an unlocked N900 for that and use wi-fi ... or at least add data at my discretion and not under contract.

I was waiting for this to debut before making the final decision on the N900, but I think I'm going to have to pony up the cash for the big gun. I'll definitely give this one a look once it's in stores, but given that I don't use Twitter/Facebook/Myspace to keep track of people, it doesn't have too much on the G1 hardware wise, other than the good looks.

The amount of blograge wasted on this topic is humorous. Never mind the fact that HTC will manufacture more touchscreens in one day than you will ever put your grubby fingers on in your entire life, if the screen sucks, the phone won't sell. So getting mad about it is just pissing in the wind, and more importantly, exposing an editorial bias. Have you used this phone? If not, why would I trust your eventual review of it now that you've made it clear your opinion in already formed?
