Good thing I didn't confuse MW with Homefront. WTF does that mean anyways? You act like there were no FPS games before CoD. At most CoD or BF added incremental improvements to the genre- it didn't redefine or reinvent it.
@Verrier @Negatron It would be better if you could respond by actually having a discussion. The whole point of my post was to address a bias shown by Joystiq, not to whittle everything down to a "greater than/ less than" CoD argument.
1. I didn't say that Justin reviewed MW2, Joystiq did though. 2. MW2 campaign 10.5 hours? Bulls**t. That's a 5 hour campaign...was for me anyways.. 3. You completely missed the point of my post. The things you call "problems" in MW2 were never mentioned as such by Joystiq until Homefront used some of the same conventions. That is a double standard...epecially when Joystiq doesn't even call out CODBLOPS on more of the same design techniques. 4. I didn't say HF deserved as high a score as MW2, just that the review was clearly biased and unfair. The extremely low "5" confirms it.
Thanks to Justin McElroy (and Joystiq) for giving Call of Duty a free pass and lambasting Homefront for similiar issues.
Modern Warfare 2: Short SP campaign? Check. Monster closets? Check. Enemy wells? Check. Enemies that kill you with rocket launchers with no warning? Check. The word "Follow" that is ever-present over your squad leader? Check.
Get a real job, you hack- and stop screwing over hard working developers.
