How on earth do you know it was half assed. You have no idea was Hotz was using it for or wanted it for. If microsoft or apple decided to install their os with a feature and then later on decide to take it away im sure if you used that feature you would be upset too.

@oJMan240o I love how you blame hotz for this. Sony took get rid of other os. He is a very intelligent man and how on earth do you know what he used other os for. If microsoft of apple decided to take away a feature in their os that you used, you would get pissed off too and if you had the technical know how i don't see why you wouldn't try to get it back as well. Hotz doesn't pirate stuff and im sure if it. If he did sony wouldn't have settled out of court with him. There are others that are using his exploits negatively. Just like the jailbreak for iphones. intended to be allowed to used with other carriers but then others decided to use it to pirate.
I don't think hotz should be blamed for this, no one knows who hacked sony or what their intentions are. If we find out who hacked the systems then we can play the blame game.

I don't understand why sony is hounding Geohotz yet they did nothing to DarkAlex. i'm pretty sure DarkAlex has basically allowed any newbie hack their psp just to get games and homebrew. If Sony will ban Ps3's that have custom firmware thats a big turn off for more people. While for psp if you cant go online its what ever. I know when i used to play my psp i never really went online. If sony wanted to show stop pirating they should have done this with the psp and not just the ps3. I understand jailbreaking phone and systems are different but theres no rational reason in not going after DarkAlex or any new custom fireware maker for the psp..
