Engadget's recession antidote: win a 16GB iPhone 3G from Rapid Repair!

Aug 1st 2009 9:49PM (Engadget)
You can solve the economic problems in the US by abolishing taxes, then allowing the government to print money limited by the rate of inflation. Well, that's my idea anyway. I thought it was cool.

Oh, yea. And an iPhone 3G would be nice.

You can't buy it, it was homemade. You might be able to get a metalworking shop to make the parts, but then you'd have to find someone to weld it together. The website has two PDFs you can download that have plans, but they appear to possibly be missing some parts: http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fyappaps3.blog.shinobi.jp%2FEntry%2F48%2F&sl=ja&tl=en&hl=en&ie=UTF-8

I dunno, it looks more like Republic Commando to me. Witness the robotic enemies and the rapid-fire laser rifle.

Ouch! No sense of humor? Worse, no soul?

Hey, I think these were all pretty weak, and I stand by that. I voted for DA, by the way.

RPG-TV: It's supposed to be a joke about how inexpensive consoles are, I guess. But $300USD is still expensive. And the story below about how the author has bought two 360s to fix RRODs makes 360 users seem foolish.
Penny Arcade: A really immature penis joke.
Dueling Analogs: Almost funny, but meh.
VG Cats: The first panel is okay, but the last two just don't work. The second panel is inappropriate and the last one isn't funny, especially since Home isn't out yet.
Deja Vu: Blowing in your Wii is a really bad idea. It's not like a NES cart.
The Librarianist: Meh. Not that amusing.
Cectic: Anti-religious bigotry.
Scout Rush: Meh. And the story isn't funny, it's tragic. That guy has a family, and children!

Are you a mid-core gamer?

Hehe. The picture should be "Hello, my name is , and I'm a mid-core gamer." Otherwise the joke doesn't really work.

High-fi fix for malfunctioning Guitar Hero III Les Paul

Nov 4th 2007 12:03PM (Engadget)
Yea - warranty. Gamers shouldn't be fixing guitars like this. They should be taking advantage of the warranty instead. If a company sells defective merchandise, they should have to replace it for free.

Gamers repairing it themselves sets a bad precedent.
