He got lucky, and I think they lowered the difficulty for him. Go look at the E3 demos.

Not with this game. He got lucky with a couple of spin attacks that he activated by accident. That's all. Waggle isn't enough in Skyward Sword. Go look at some of the E3 demos.

That's why you can turn the 3D off.

And don't give me that "but then it's not worth it" crap. Nintendo only advertises it as the "main" feature because it's the biggest stand-out hardware feature. Games determine the value of gaming hardware, not gimmicks.
