Sep 15th 2011 11:06AM (Joystiq)Some NCAA Football 12 features reportedly broken by patch
Sep 12th 2011 6:03PM (Joystiq)I actually really enjoyed the heck out of NCAA 11 last year, aside from recruit ratings being broken, which caused me to buy this years edition as well. The customization features keep dynasty mode interesting and rewarding, but little else was good about this title. The passing game was broken worse than ever (I watched a good 10 football games this weekend. Didn't see linebackers jumping 30 feet into the air to swat passes down very often) but still easy and not challenging at all. Custom Playbooks were broken from the start too. The promised visual improvements were broken from the first patch...and the player tendencies problem greatly impacted how the game played. Now this? I like the NCAA team a lot, but get your stuff together guys.

Sep 11th 2011 11:08AM (Joystiq)Not all.
Self defeating is to non objectively spew a laundry list of cliches that are just as predictable as the "turn it into an FPS" thing devs do. We really don't know much about this game right now....and we've already got people going "I HATE IT AND IT SUCKS" everywhere when it well could be something worth playing. The entire gaming communities reaction when it comes to FPS games has become excruciatingly trite. I think there's a bit of a double standard there too, in that most of us would agree that games like Bioshock, Deus Ex, and others have been great games. Personally, I don't think there's a compelling reason to care about what perspective a game has provided it's well made.
Maybe I'm picking a fight for no real reason here(well could be), but I'm just sick of all the negativity on sites like Joystiq. It becomes incredibly hard to actually see the good in a community(as a whole, not just here. You guys are actually better than some places, for what it's worth) that doesn't seem interested in trying to see the good in anything anymore.
I guess I'm sorry to all the people that loved to original games(even if I am convinced by demographics that many of you are in the same boat as me, weather you'll admit to it or not). But if you don't like the looks of the game nobody is compelling you to buy it. Let's be completely honest here though; it's not like you guys were getting another game and they tore it away. Starbreeze Studios isn't a company that does IP's. They probably had an idea of what they wanted to do for their next project and were looking to tie it in with something. They've made some excellent games before(Dark Athena and The Darkness being two that I've played personally) that hardly fall into the first reaction on everyone flowchart of being "just another generic FPS".

Sep 10th 2011 11:09PM (Joystiq)People love to complain. Judging by the age demographic of gaming media and forums, most of them probably never played Syndicate either. It's just so much cooler to be angry about things these days.

Court dismisses QB's case against EA over image usage in NCAA Football
Sep 10th 2011 6:12PM (Joystiq)EA is a much easier target than the NCAA, unfortunately. The NCAA's antiquated idea of amateurism is becoming more and more absurd for every Cam Newton/Miami scandal that breaks. Billions of TV(and a fair bit of video game) dollars...and none of it goes to the actual product bringing it in. This is just another example of that.

Sep 6th 2011 12:46AM (Joystiq)Well said man. Some of the complains are absolutely ridiculous, especially in regards to the highlighting and changing the shooting mechanics(for the better, might I add). People really just get off on complaining about arbitrary things out of context these days.
