Latest Skyward Sword assets put Link in a trial by fire

Oct 28th 2011 7:17PM (Joystiq)
@redsyrup I think it looks great for a Wii title except for the terrible character and enemy designs. People will downvote you for having artistic preferences in your Zelda games, though.

Crysis suiting up on Xbox Live, PSN

Oct 4th 2011 7:36PM (Joystiq)
Can someone please tell me if Chrono Trigger suffers from the load times on the PSN version that they just uploaded? (I know this is a Crysis article, but since they uploaded this game on the same Playstation Store update I figure I'll ask on here since I can't seem to find the answer anywhere yet)

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword media sets the scene

Sep 29th 2011 2:34PM (Joystiq)
The environments in this aren't terrible and I am sure it will be great as for gameplay, but these character designs are the absolute most terrible I've ever seen in a game I actually care about. Whoever modeled the characters here are ridiculous and it is not good in any aspect whatsoever. Overall just terrible. It's hard not to cringe when looking at a Michael Jackson-esque boss that even dances basically... And what is up with their lips in this game? Just awful. (as I said, though.... gameplay wise and environment wise, it's probably going to be good)

PSA: PSN temporarily down for maintenance this morning

Sep 29th 2011 12:54PM (Joystiq)
It is only me or is anyone else hoping that the full Uncharted 3 multiplayer from the Subway promotion is going to be up when this maintenance is complete? There have been no official announcement from Naughty Dog, but Subway already has the website ready and I already have my cup with the code on it from buying a drink this morning after work. I really hope it's on there today.

Ni no Kuni (PS3) preview: In the Pig City

Sep 23rd 2011 3:31PM (Joystiq)
@Yatagarasu I don't ever recall saying that I want this particular game to be changed. I was only saying that I wish a game were out this generation that fit the criteria I listed above. The game I'm wishing for doesn't even have to be related to this Ni no Kuni game at all whatsoever.

Ni no Kuni (PS3) preview: In the Pig City

Sep 23rd 2011 9:28AM (Joystiq)
I wish there was a game like this with a more serious tone to it and an adult lead character, but not too serious. An atmosphere sort of like Zelda's -- It isn't too mature and bloody, but it isn't too light either. A game with this graphic style, a tad bit more serious, adult leads, open world, turn based, and a lot of side quests would be amazing in a game.

(Please don't mistake me for saying this game isn't going to be good, it actually looks great... It just had me thinking of what I'd really like to see for RPGs this generation)

Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy Origins rated for PSN

Sep 22nd 2011 7:30PM (Joystiq)
Chrono Trigger was also rated for PSN, but we see how that went. It was incorrectly posted on the Playstation Blog that Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6 were being released as PSOne Classics this week, but it didn't happen. This will just be another long wait. I never did get to play Chrono Cross and I never did get to buy Chrono Trigger, I played it on an emulator and I want to buy it and support the game since it's so great. Not to mention, I'd also like to play the one with the anime cutscenes.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations multiplayer trailer will absolutely slay you

Sep 22nd 2011 9:31AM (Joystiq)
@Jerkface Killah Everything would be more epic with classical music, but epic genres tend to like modern music for some reason now, unfortunately.

PSA: PSN is down, Sony's 'working to resolve the issue' [update: it's back]

Sep 21st 2011 5:37PM (Joystiq)
I refuse to believe another month or so outage will occur. The Subway deal for Uncharted 3 multiplayer will be played on the day it becomes available. No doubt about it... I will kill a human being if this postponed.

Finally! PS3 Firmware 3.72 arrives, changes everything

Sep 20th 2011 1:46PM (Joystiq)
@Player1 Wow, are you serious? I just did this firmware update wirelessly in only one minute. If this took twenty minutes, I'd have been mad... It never takes more than three minutes at most.
