@Haggard EA will never go DRM-free. As much as they try to deny it, they are directly competing with Steam because they didn't like some features of Steam that seemed restrictive to them. They are trying to get other developers interested in releasing on Origin as well, and you can see from a mile away that they aren't going to give their games to customers without DRM, apart from their older stuff on GOG.com. They seem to have an increasing amount of control over their games, shown in the sequels to great Bioware RPGs such as Dragon Age and Mass Effect. DA2 and ME2 were not nearly as much to do with Role Playing as the originals were. All to do with accessibility.
