Gaze upon the 3DS circle pad attachment

@Sponge Fair enough, I suppose anything to get more software on it, which as a 3DS owner with two games I guess I should support.

@FuriousMailman Yea, and I'm not convinced it makes any sense. Playing Monster Hunter is all well and fun, but it cripples the portability of the device, defeating any benefits from playing it on a 3DS. It's solving a problem that creates a bigger problem. If it expanded the battery too then it would be doing something productive.

What purpose could this possibly serve?

@bigwhiteyeti I have the charge cradle on my desk and as long as I plug it in when I get home, its fine for a day at university when I might game for a bit between classes. Switching off the 3d works wonders

NPD launching Euro sales tracking service, focusing on digital for a 'global perspective'

But still no light on Steam sales? I've always been curious as to how much of a boost an old game can get when it goes on sale. Probably enough to push it into monthly top sellers, which could be rather embarrassing for big publishers pushing a new release game.

Battlefield 3 won't be sold on Steam; EA claims service 'restricts our ability to directly support players'

@katssun
I kind of agree with you on a few levels, but it might me a bit more complex than that. I found BC2 on Steam with separate friend lists very frustrating, and if I do buy BF3 it will be on Xbox for the integration. It isn't really hypocrisy, because EA is free to use the Steam Wallet and friend list systems, but obviously doesn't want to because of the valve commission and the launch of Origin. EA isn't in the business of being at the mercy of another company, unless it is forced to in many ways like on consoles where the entire environment is controlled. There is no reason Steam cant be integrated like in the Sega MMO Spiral Knights, apart from the fact that EA would then be under Valve's thumb and Origin would be trumped.

@Draugdraugr So its just a monitor? Cool, when I first saw it I thought there was an actual PlayStation 3 inside that thing.

EA Sports Season Ticket launches today, offers full-game demos and DLC discounts

Has anyone considered that the next logical step for publishers is creating their own game consoles? Think about it, the goal here is to create customer loyalty through the hip pocket, right? If you buy this you will be more likely to buy EA sports games simply because if you don't, you've wasted your money. Its already started with Origin on PCs shutting out Steam, and cost would be the only thing stopping the 'EABox' from being created and having it sit next to TV's around the world. It's the only way you could maximize brand loyalty even higher. I predict the next new company to enter console development will be EA, Activision or Ubisoft.

Current 3DS owners eligible for free games

@Ryan P I willing to bet good e-shop points that they will be exclusive for a year or so and then become paid downloads. GBA games on the 3DS seems too appealing to keep it limited.
