Honestly I doubt much thought went into it's cancellation. The game was nothing more than a way to show off some new tech. They just used Raiden as a basis to slice things. Sure they had a story planned out but in reality it all comes down to tech.

I believe in Platinum. The new trailer looked epic. I'm extremely excited for this.

*snaps back to reality*

@(Unverified) Exactly how many zombie games have there been lately? I haven't had the time to go through and list all of them but I know as much as it IS substantial, there are a ton of the same types of games all around. People just don't get mad about it.

If you look past the fact that it's another zombie game and think to the fact a studio that knows how to make a compelling story, likeable characters you care about, and fun gameplay/multiplayer I think you'll see that it won't be just another zombie game. As a matter of fact these oversaturated zombie games tend to do well and end up being pretty good. It's a fact.

I mean I would love to argue that they aren't zombies and they're more like predators hunting you down but I know no one will even bother to listen. Zombies are different than what they intend on having here, not to mention having to (most likely) fight off other human survivors to stay alive. It isn't going to just be the same thing. At least I wouldn't imagine so. Honestly, knowing that Naughty Dog is the one tackling something such as this has me much more excited than any other company would. They know what's been done. And they know what needs to be done to make things interesting. Don't doubt them yet.

I understand you aren't entirely bashing what this is. I see what you mean. But to be concerned about the future of gaming because of this is a bit much. And as an aside, let's push past the fact that you want to completely ignore the premise of the game and dumb it down to zombies and look at it the way they intend you to look at it. Which is to say a fungal infection that is taking over and causing everyone to fend for themselves. That actually IS different. But for whatever reason people can't seem to see that.

So tl;dr I see your points, but at the same time, don't just disregard what it actually is and throw your own ideas into it and assume until we learn more. Once we do, then let's bash away or love away.

I don't hate QTE's or anything but that was the only difference I noticed honestly. Hm. Not only that but the music was awful compared to the battle music of XIII regular. Too bad too. I loved the soundtrack to XIII. The battle music especially.

Much as I'd rather a new Devil May Cry game than this, I'm actually really looking forward to playing this after seeing the recent videos. It's not what I know and love from what I can see, but it's something else. It looks like a great game on its own. Maybe not a great Devil May Cry game. But a great videogame. I know it isn't easy to look at it like that but sadly that's what it's coming down to.

I'll be buying it for sure.

@OGC So a poster of her instead of a pillowcase of her and coasters instead of boxers. Also a different shirt, instead of the one that is actually featured in the game. And it's somehow better?

Not to say that it's horrible. I would buy it. I was one of the few people to actually get 1000 achievements points in Catherine. And I love the Special Edition we got in America. I also have the Japanese Version. Dammit Atlus I love you too much.

But yeah. Still cool. better than lots of other super pricey special editions these days.
