Sony cuts e-reader prices: Pocket Edition now $149

Jul 5th 2010 6:45PM (Engadget)
@sirexilon That's only for the touch edition, the Pocket edition has a really nice screen. IMO the Pocket edition is the better device to get if you want to actually read books. Well, besides maybe the slightly smaller screen I guess.

Sony cuts e-reader prices: Pocket Edition now $149

@Data I picked up the Pocket edition for that price off woot (refurb), it's pretty nice. Although if I had waited a month I might have rather gotten the Nook with wifi, but to be honest the Pocket Reader does read a lot of formats and I don't really need wifi on a device that's for reading books. Now I'm just waiting for one of the 10" readers to come down to a reasonable price because the 5" screen sucks for reading technical papers that have graphs in them.

@Geozec monoprice.com has very cheap ink and cables and a ton of other nice stuff.

Gaijin Games 'can't wait' to work on Bit.Trip.Runner for 3DS

@MLS I still have not beaten 1-11, that thing scares the crap out of me. T_T.

But I'll still get the 3DS version, it's a great game and I feel like it's well suited for a portable, although I wonder when the 3DS is actually coming out in that case.

@Alexpeegs Nah not really, I've seen the same technique in a DS homebrew proof of concept. Ultimately it's not that useful in the end.

Steam sale: Fallout 3, Oblivion, Morrowind

@JPeak Aha! That's what I keep telling myself, except I never play these games. I should really be finishing Mass Effect 2 and then going back to Dragon Age so there's no reason for me to buy Fallout 3, but I'll get it anyway because I'm a sucker for RPGs yet until recently I haven't had the disposable income to really buy them.

Steam sale: Fallout 3, Oblivion, Morrowind

@toadsworth Seriously. Especially in the last few months, I've bought so many games that I don't have the time to play just because I've wanted to play them at one point. I'll probably pick up FO3 because that's a pretty good price, but Oblivion I'll probably wait until the next holiday sale because I picked up Morrowind during the last one and I haven't played that at all (blasphemy, I know. College takes up most of my time).

@MagnetMan Yay for OMAP (if you hadn't already been spammed by 30 people about it already, it is indeed supposed to be OMAP and not snapdragon). People get too excited about clock speed. Did we learn nothing from the Pentium 4?

@Glitch Holy crap, I just bought one of these for my desktop, now I feel inadequate. This is pretty interesting actually; if you can throw in two more and do three way crossfire I bet it would last many years.
