XBLA in Brief: MLB Bobblehead Pros, Dead Block

Jul 7th 2011 4:06PM (Joystiq)
I was eager to check out Dead Block, I thought it would be their answers to COD's zombies, only in a arcade style. All was well until I booted up the demo and realized there wasn't an online co-op. I was stunned and couldn't believe why anyone would make a co-op style game without any online capabilities. It's a shame because the game is decent and would've been fun online but instead it's a kamikaze mission.

Turtle Beach's Xbox 360 Bluetooth Chat Adapter hands-on (or: One of the best things I saw at E3)

@Vcize I don't know if it's possible or not(I know it is with PS eye), but can you use Kinect as a mic? I am hearing more TVs than ever before and it's so annoying that I quickly mute them. The person talking always sounds like they're across the room which is why I believe they're using KInect but have no idea if you can use it that way or not. Whoever thought open mics in front of the TV were a good idea, needs a swift kick to the balls.

On a funny note, I have heard many mothers yelling at their children to get off of the xbox and go to sleep. Ah, that brings tears of joy to me until they quit and I find out they were the host, of course.

"Microsoft introduced its own (terrible) wireless headset"

You say terrible as if it were a fact, joystiq. Opinions are NOT fact. My experience with the wireless headset has been great. It sounds better than wired, works while I'm the toilet if I want it to and mine after 3 years has held a great charge. On Amazon (depending on color) they're listed as 3.5-4 out of 5 stars, so obviously I'm not alone in thinking MS's headset is great.

Sony introducing one-time-use online codes with Resistance 3

Jul 6th 2011 2:48PM (Joystiq)
@Truant The EA games I rented that had an online pass, had a 7 day trial period and it was more than enough to get your achievements/trophies so it worked out well. If someone was wanting to play MP for two months+, they should probably just buy the game, since gamefly will cost $10-$15 a month, plus the $10 for online pass(puts it on par with other games) and with no resale value, that renting turns into retail fairly quickly.

Besides with the gift cards flowing from Amazon for $20 sometimes, the choice is more clearer than ever.

I'm in for another month of PS+. I milked it for all I could, including all the of the free games.

PSA: Sony's Welcome Back package ended today [update: last-minute extension]

Well all of that defending Sony for pages worth of comments goes out the window with the extension. They basically admitted they were wrong. Now time to make a new account...haha!

NPD: 360 selling twice as many online-capable games as PS3

Jun 28th 2011 12:06PM (Joystiq)
@Kougeru Have you tried using PS3's browser? It's very limited in its capabilities .Last time I tried ESPN3.com it wouldn't play anything on PS3. My 60gb constantly freezes when trying to play videos in the browser, one will play and the next will lock up my PS3(i report it every time to Sony when I reboot). As for the ESPN app, I use it all the time during college football season. The ability to watch games that you haven't even subscribed to on cable, is great. Works well for PIP, too.

@Jay Z I prefer buying games for 360 in general. I also don't have a warranty on my PS3 60gb model anymore and that has something to do with it now but even when I did I still preferred the box.
